Tuesday- Throw It Away, Tsk, Tsk, Tsk

Wow I can't believe it's so late and I am just getting to blogging. I was missing some very important stuff that I had to find, TODAY. One was my bag with ETSY stuff for sale since I sold something last night. And the other was my bank bag so I could pay my bills. Both were missing.

I finally found them all, and in the process got rid of 3 boxes of garbage. My new motto... THROW IT AWAY!!!

Here is a picture of me and Adam from yesterday. He is such a good boy and loves to hold hands and hug and snuggle. I know he will someday grow out of this but I am going to enjoy every minute of it while I can.
OK Onto CONTEST STUFF

TUESDAY IS TRY A NEW STITCH DAY

Today's stitch... Leaves of Grass
Leaves Of Grass (multiple of 11 sts)
Note: the instructions below are a generic description of how to execute this stitch pattern. For a single repeat, you'd only need eleven stitches but you'd have a VERY narrow piece! In the example shown, there are three repeats of the stitch, so to make a swatch that looks like the one shown, you need to cast on 33 stitches (3 x the multiple of 11 stitches needed for a single repeat of the pattern.)

Row 1 (RS) *Yo, ssk, k9; rep from * to end.
Row 2 and all WS rows Purl.
Row 3 *K1, yo, ssk, k8; rep from * to end.
Row 5 *K2, yo, ssk, k4, k2tog, yo, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 7 *K3, yo, ssk, k2, k2tog, yo, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 9 *K6, k2tog, yo, k3; rep from * to end.
Row 11 *K5, k2tog, yo, k4; rep from * to end.
Row 12 Purl.

Rep rows 1-12.

I thought since Summer is ending Leaves of Grass sounded like a perfect pattern to finish the contest with.

I thought you'd like to hear the update on my water therapy. Yesterday I swam 1/2 of a mile that's 18 laps (up and back) for those who haven't seen my previous posts about this. Plus my regular resistance stuff and 15 minutes of aerobics in the deep end plus I did 30 pull ups too. yeah I am certifiably crazy. LOL

Today other then the major house cleaning, and eventually dishes to wash, I am resting. Adam went home last night so I can. Except Hannah my niece is here, but she is 6 and actually was a HUGE help to me so getting up to feed her etc was a good trade off. Plus I gave her about $5.00 in money and I think she took $10.00 in Avon samples, LOL.

So that's it from me today. I feel like I am way behind, but I am so happy to have the junk out of here finally.

See you tomorrow.

Hi Kathy! Wow, sounds like you're doing great! I couldn't swim that far! I'm so out of shape it's pitiful!! You're an inspiration!!

I also am getting rid of things! I have a big bag of clothes that I'm donating, and a large bag of partially used #10 thread and a bag of rug yarn that will both be donated also. I need more room!! I have a big bag of baby yarn in my dd's closet and she needs to put her things in there. Don't know what I'm going to do with it! I want to keep it, but where is the problem!

We survived hurricane Fay, but our big tv didn't. So I've been listening to music and knitting and crocheting a lot!

Very proud of your progress! Keep up the good work!

You are doing great with the water aerobics and swimming. You have to be feeling better, too. As far as kids snuggling, you know how it is. He might be one that never grows out of it!
The stitch is awesome. I know I have made a variation of this as a dishcloth...it looks so familiar. And it is fitting as summer winds down.
So....can you come over and throw away some of my junk, too? LOL. Have a great day!

I really like the stitch, and printed it to make...I am getting a stash of cloth patterns I want to make...one of these days...Finished the 2 chemo hats and also had enough black (cavern) cotton fleece to amke Jack a hat...It is the first thing I have ever made him, and he still has it on his head....
Big hugs for the day.........

Oooooh, I REALLY like this stitch pattern!
Good for you with the water therapy!!
I am trying so HARD to get rid of junk....but it is very hard...not only does laziness factor in, but when memories are attachied to something....

I love the stitch too.

That is a great pic of you and adam. Too sweet.

Nice job pitching the junk and swimming so far.

Did you find what you were looking for?

Wondering if you've taken your measurements to compare when you've swam for a few weeks? I'd be interested to know (might encourage me to keep up my exercise!)
I think that stitch is very nice, but I seem to be blinded by the color of the sample. I've noticed that I become partial to a stitch because of the color, rather than the actual stitch! I would make a 3/4 sleeve sweater with an empire waist: the bodice (or upper waist) in stockinette and the rest in this stitch in a cotton or linen.
Have a great day!

Awwwww----I just love that picture of your and Adam's hands!! It is so precious--save it forever!!

Housecleaning--am I supposed to be doing that too? Oh, no--that's my son's job--he did it once, maybe he'll do it again!! I can only hope!!

You are making such great progress with the swimming therapy. Each time you go you swimming a little farther, and that just has to feel like such an accomplishment!!

Thanks for the encouraging comment on my blog!! I really needed to hear that--discussed everything last night at Small Group, too!! So, today, I feel better about the whole mess.

I need to take a lesson from you and throw some things out too. My DH's motto is if we have not used it in 6 months it needs to go. Great job on the workout-keep up the good work and I love the stitch.

I'm always fascinated by a comparison of a child's hands to and adults - it pulls on my heartstrings!
I really like the leaves of grass, I think it'd be pretty in blue too!

i have many tracings and pics of daughters hands to other family members, love the hands! Also, i agree, if it is not being utilized...pass it on! It is so liberating to downsize~!
