Tuesday- Thankful for even the little things

Morning... a quick blog from me today. I get to get squished and scanned today and we need to leave in a few minutes. Have to finagle transportation as my car DIED yesterday on my way home from another DR appt. Yeah it was a bummer, but in looking back now, there were some real blessings.

1- I had my cell phone (remember my son just got the I PHONE so he gave me mine back)
2- I got the car towed home and it only cost me $5.00 for gas
3- I remembered to bring my oxygen (I never do anymore) so the three hours I sat in the hot car I was able to have fresh oxygen
4- It died 4 miles from my house and not in the parking lot of the hospital 8 miles away.
5- I lost 13 pounds and because of that I was able to fit behind the wheel and drive my sisters car so her husband could drive my no power steering, power braked dead car while it was being towed.

Even in the bad GOD was watching out for me. Why should I ever worry?

Anyway let's get on to todays CONTEST stuff

TUESDAY is try something new day

Our NEW stitch today is called "THE DOUBLE SEED" stitch

Double Seed Stitch
Multiples of 4...
Rows 1 & 2...* K2, P2, repeat from * across
Rows 3 & 4...* P2, K2, repeat from * across
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern..
Bind off in pattern......

Here is the swatch I started last night before I went to bed, my camera skills are a little shaky but hopefully you can see the pattern, I like it.

Post in the comment section if you have tried this stitch, plan to try this stitch, hate this stitch whatever. Just a comment is all I am really looking for, and all you need to do to get another entry in this weeks contest.

Until tomorrow then...
Have a great day and keep looking up for there IS always a rainbow after a storm, but if we aren't looking up we will miss the promise.

That's a very pretty stitch. I don't think I've ever tried it before - I'll try it tonight.
Sorry about your car! But you are looking on the positive side of things!

Sorry about the car, but good that you saw the blessings in the midst of it.

The stitch... I think I've done this before. I was making fingerless gloves and didn't make them right so I turned it into a camera case...

The yarn I used was a bamboo baby yarn and so soft and pretty. I may have to buy more just so I can make some fingerless gloves for real!

I've done seed stitch, but not double seed stitch. It's very pretty and I'll have to try it sometime. Hope all goes well for you today! :D

Congratulations on your weight loss!! That's wonderful!!

I'm sorry to hear about your car--hopefully it can be fixed quickly and inexpensively.

I've done that stitch before. I used it to make squares for afghans for The Ghana Project. It's easy and it looks pretty and more complication than it really is.

Have a wonderful rest of the day!!

I like the double seed stitch pattern, this would make a very warm sweater for winter. I think I would like to try it on an afghan also.

I didn't try it but I really like the way your swatch is looking.

I'm so glad that He was looking out for you. We do sometimes fail to see the good in all the bad things that happen.

Hugs!

*hope they didn't torture you too much*

Glad to hear everything worked out even in such a bad situation.

Can't recall whether I have knit that one before. I've definitely done seed stitch and moss stitch.

I think I like that one. It'd make up a nice square for Maggie. Sigh, so many projects, so little times....and that's why I'm still up and it's almost 2. How on earth do I think I'm going to get a spittin' thing done tomorrow?

Talk to ya after your appt.

mauh!
