Wow it's Thursday already. Funny how fast the weeks seem to fly when there is a contest going on.
It sure is wet outside. I think we have had 4 inches of rain already and it's still raining all day today. I actually like the rain so it's all good.
I received my first sock blank in the mail yesterday. I have never used one before but am anxious to give it a try. I just need to pick out a pattern. Here are a couple pictures of it, any suggestions on a sock pattern I should try?
OK onto CONTEST STUFF
The answer to yesterday's RIDDLE was PRIZE, and yes it did rhyme with eyes.
Today Is THURSDAY and since last week we had a "GUESS" picture today Thursday is CAPTION DAY.
Below you will find a knitting picture I found on the Internet. It is crying out for a "Caption" to describe it. So put on your thinking caps, and see what comes to mind. I tried to put the link on the picture but if it doesn't work it came from this web site (www.ffwdweekly.com)I want to make sure to give credit where it's due.
Post your CAPTION idea in the comments section and receive another entry in this weeks contest. No worries if you can't think of anything, any comment counts, OK? This is supposed to be fun for everyone, and everyone has a chance to win, right?
Not much else going on here... today is bill paying day and hopefully knitting day too. Tomorrow Adam comes, so rest is definitely in order for me today.
I am so thankful for each and every one of you for continuing to come back and play in my contests. I really enjoy doing them and seeing so many return just makes it all the more fun for me.
Have a wonderful day, full of reasons to celebrate. That's my prayer for you all.

Hat gone wrong!
That's the first time I've ever seen a sock blank. I'm not a sock maker and don't think I will be anytime soon.
My brain isn't coming up with a caption this morning. Sorry!
See you tomorrow.
Is a sock blank one of those things you unravel as you knit? Maybe the caption on the photo should be "A Sock Blank gone Wrong"
i have seen the sock blanks in magazines and on line but have yet to try one, let us know what you think!
Hmmm, if the opposit side is open for eyes i would guess that knob is for a pony tail and ready for skiing or snowboarding (although the pom pom would be in the way for a snowboarders helmet) Hmmm off to work, early...sigh
Photo caption: Some days I just can't face the world.
"HELP!!!"
Have a good day!! :)
I remembered the ear trumpet but I forgot the eyes. DOH!
It's the super dooper Acme blonde refiller 2000.
Brain's not fully functioning yet today...need more tea! Can't thing of a thing to say about that hat, except that I want one! Block out the world, but still keep an ear out for the little ones! LOL
I've only made 1 pair of socks so far, so I'm not much help with a sock pattern. But I'm thinking of trying a sock blank to experiment with dyeing.
I'm depressed now...it's well after noon and I still haven't thought of anything creative.
Well, the sock blank is pretty! I must confess I don't know what it is, but it's pretty!
As for the caption...
"Now I can sleep at the Opera"
Aunt Susie's first hat pattern!
I think the caption should say:
"Which way am I going?" lol
Ok so did you dye the sock blank yourself? Those colors really scream AUTUMN to me. I love it. Why not try some pattern that has a leaf motif to it. That would really go with the colors.
hugs Patt
Just stumbled over here from Tea's blog. Love your blog and I found a contest to boot!
For a Caption: CindyLoo Who's Hat Mishap - Ordering "Murky Lake" colored yarn instead of "Perky Strawberry Cake". At least the design is perfect!
I can't wait to see your socks knitted up from the blank! Very cool idea...a blank!
"I can't hear you!"
....snickers...
"Just talk to me."
"What'd ya say?"
Well I learned something new today thanks to you...I had to google sock blank because I had no idea what it was...now I know. Can't wait to see your socks and find out what pattern you decided on....
OMG, what is that thing??
What is that thing sticking out of the side of the head? :P
Please tell how knitting with the sock blank works out. I think that's so cool.
Hugs!
