Monday, Making Memories

Welcome to week 2 of 9 Contest weeks. If you are a regular then you know what's in store and if you are a first time visitor, Welcome and join right in, I try to make the contest fun, and easy and hopefully rewarding enough that you come back and bring your friends too.

We had an awesome turn out last week a total of 77 comments were made. Using the random generator program comment # 36 is the winner of week one's contest. Congratulations going out to Melanie I will be mailing out your prize this week. Please email me or PM through Ravelry with your mailing address ok? Thank you for playing and remember you can win back to back weeks so keep on playing.

This week I have teamed up with Bea and the prize will be your choice of one of her small project bags from her Etsy shop. I have to admit I want one of each, I love them all. She sells them pretty quickly and adds new ones regularly so make sure you visit there all week so if you win you are ready to make your choice. Believe me it's going to be hard to choose. I copied this picture from her blog to give you a hint of what's there, this particular bag may not be available anymore.

Now onto todays CONTEST assignment...
MONDAY is MEMORY day Yesterday I filled you all in on what I had been up to all week, so today you get to do the same. Tell us about a project you are working on, or some things you finished this week? Did you try something new this week, what was it? I want to hear all about it. So simply go to the comment section and confess. LOL. Of course nothing around here is mandatory so if all you want to do is say hello, tell a joke or whatever, it still counts. All you have to do is comment to get an entry.

Remember to link my contest on your blog and send your friends, it gets you another entry and believe me with these prizes you are going to want as many entries as you can get. Right?

Have a wonderful day.
See you on Tuesday.

Ah, confession is good for the soul..
I wish I had something interesting to confess besides keeping me head stuck in my china cabinet lately so I'll just say hello & congrats to Melanie for winning wk one.

I did have a look at Bea's shop..very cute bags, etc. Etsy is such a nifty place.

I haven't tried anything new lately...been busy working on a new set of dishcloth/blanket square designs. Just getting them all test knitted now.

Well, I wasn't doing what I should have been doing. I should have been finishing the knitted Princess doll (whose dress was your mystery photo :D) for my baby girl who turns 2 next Monday! Oops! Instead, I decided to join two new CAL/KALs. But both are allowing me to try new things. Like my first ever sock and tunisian crochet. So I don't feel toooo horribly guilty and I know I'll finish the doll this week. In fact, I'm going to work on her right now! LOL :D

Okay I'll bite, I bought six bandanas two each of red, white and blue. I sewed them together with a space in the middle to put on our outside table for our little get together last Saturday.

I have lots of knitting on the needles and a lot of books to read. Thankfully it is summer.

The Tour de France started this weekend so that will be keeping me busy for a few weeks. I am participating the TDFKAL and have a Clapotis to finish by the end of it.

Congrats mel! Beas bags look beautiful, off to stalk her etsy next!!
i knit up a pair of corset laced arm warmers this weekend in black and purple for my daughters best friend whose birthday is today. She is like a second daughter to us and she was so happy with them, so yeah!! But i also have the STR purple socks on the needles, taking it slow as they are my first toe up. A shawl is also on the needles and i am not in love with it. Love the pattern, whispering pines, but the yarn is so 70's in color, just not sure, lol. there are 3 other sock pairs on the needles that get rotated going in my purse with me. A few dishclothes here and there but so many plans for other knitting! i think work has just been so busy and i do not seem to get home before 7 pm lately that i sit and relax and fall asleep.

Those bags are so cute! I've been polishing up my crocheting skills. I'm working on an afghan for my son. It is really difficult to even think about blankets, ect in the warm days of summer. I am glad I found your blog.

Oh fun! I just found you here... jumping from link to link....

I just finished knitting a "spa set" from the One Skein Wonders book. I knit it for an on-line Christmas in July exchange for one of my "mom's" sites. I also just got in the mail today a pattern to knit a sweater for my husband. I'm very excited and nervous as I've never done a sweater before! I know I'll need help!

On my way to add your button to my blog!

Well, the new thing I tried is to test knit a new fingerless glove pattern that is a snowflake. I've never done knit colorwork before and this was a great challenge for me. I see a couple of mistakes, but it's ok. I finished one glove which fits my dh's big hands! Now he wants to know where the other one is!

I'm almost done with the green kitty bag that I'm making for the leader of my WW group. I wanted to make sure it was done by Friday when we meet.

I just started another cemo cap for my friends group.

So I've been busy, because I also have the crocheted blanket for my new ggs to finish.

Guess I should get off of here because I'm hearing thunder! Talk to you later!

Well - as you know I have been obsessed with market bags this past week - do you have any idea how many market bag patterns there are on the internet now? a ton! But the new thing for me is that I've been crocheting instead of knitting and it's a nice change.

I am working on a skirt for my youngest daughter. No new techniques, a new yarn to me, cottontwist.

First of all--a big congratulations to Melanie for winning last weeks contest!!

Let's see--what have I been up to--I've finished two of the three KAL's I was working on(learned a new technique in one of them--wrap and turn--never done that before!)started something for a swap exchange, and reading. Reading has taken up a lot of time since I joined the PaperBack Swap Exchange.

I think I'm going to have to go back to my old ways and limit myself to only reading 1/2 hour per day. If I get my hands on a book, I'll do nothing, and I mean nothing, until that book is finished!!

Have a wonderful rest of the day, Kathy!!

Oh my... my week was crazy busy last week, with a trip Upstate to the Rochester area... we did a ton of yard work for my inlaws, and got to go to a water park and enjoyed the fireworks for the holiday as well as go fishing... I started knitting a pomatomus sock, and balled some yarn for a designing project for the Unique Sheep.

This week will be a bit calmer except we'll be heading out for a camping trip come Thursday...

Let's see, what have I been up to in the past week...

Well, I found out about the Ravelympics group on Ravelry and decided to join the fun in an attempt to get my to start and FINISH something. I designed a cable scarf for the event, and even managed to chart it and make it available for download (thank you MIL for taking Miss M for one night).

I knit a lacy dishcloth which I last knit a year and a half ago, so this second time felt "new" to me, lol.

I'm blocking my Mom's vest and need to get buttons.

Need Something to Read??? Say GimpyKatK sent you.
