Tuesday's child is full of grace

Does anyone remember that poem... The Seven Days

Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesdays child is full of grace
Wednesdays child is full of woe
Thursdays child had far to go
Fridays child must work for a living
Saturdays child is caring and giving
But the child born on the Sabbath day
Is fair and wise and good and gay

(gay meaning happy)

I read this book ( The Seven Days)when I was in grade school and loved it. It's so out of print and no libraries even have it anymore, but a couple years ago, I searched it and finally found one of two copies left to be bought. I got it for my birthday, a gift to myself, as is the norm around here, I paid $40.00+ for a used grade school book, but it's mine and I can read it again anytime I want. It's about a family with seven children each born on a different day of the week, their last name is Day. And each child has an adventure that matches what is says about being born on their specific day.

Do you have a book you remember from your childhood? I used to love reading Ramona books too, and Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew.

I had a rotten day trying to knit yesterday. I ripped out three things, nothing was going right. I may just do a couple simple crocheted squares for immediate gratification today and watch stuff I dvr'd this week. But first I need to spend some time working on my message for church tomorrow night.

My son Joe starts his job tonight. let's pray he sticks with it. It's an overnight job, stocking shelves from 10pm to 6am, but if he can do it it is the perfect job for him.

Not much else is new here today... No pictures to share, no exciting stories to tell... but I was watching some sitcoms last night and on 2 of them they mentioned having blogs, and I smiled. I have one of those, lol, I am up to date with the times for a change, LOL.

Have a great day, I'll be back tomorrow morning.

Wow...that really brought back memories. I loved the Ramona books and the Nancy Drew Mysteries. I can even remember WAY back how I loved the "Clifford the Big Red Dog" books. I haven't thought about those things in years..thanks for the trip back. I hope you have better luck knitting soon...I've had those days as well. And good luck to your son on his new job. Hugs!

Hi Kathy! Well, I still have internet. Keep those prayers going!!

I've had days where everything I try to make turns out like doo doo too! I ususually end up putting it away for awhile or even till the next day. Then everything comes out fine. I don't know why that happens, but it does!

My favorite book when I was very young was Heidi! My grandmother used to read it to me. I just loved the story of the loving grandfather. When I got older, I loved reading Trixie Belden books, who I guess competed with Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. I don't remember ever reading any of those. But I would curl up in my father's chair, especially on rainy days, and read Trixie Belden!

Pooh and Tigger blanket is completely done!!! My friend Kathleen has taken it to her house so that she can take a picture with her digital camera. Then I'll post it so that you can see it! The back isn't bad really! You know how when you turn a blanket with a design on it that you buy in the store looks on the back? Well this looks pretty much the same. I don't think I'll have to back it at all, like we discussed.

Well, my knee and everything is hurting, so back to my spot on the couch I go!

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow!

The first book I remember was in kindergarten. Where the red fern grows. The teacher said my eyes sparkled when she was reading. It is still one of my favs. Also there was one and I think it was called the treasure. I remember what it was about but can't remember the title. And then of course there was the one about a girl wanting to be a vet. Her name was the same as mine and I was so excited that someone finally had the same spelling as mine. I always thought I was a little weird cause no one spelled it the same.
And one that I would love to find is one my mom read me every Christmas about a little star and how it became the most important star. The one that lighted the way to Jesus.
Guess I have 4 that I can remember. lol. I have always loved books.

Isn't it sad that I can not reall remember any books from those early years...except for the normal Golden Books....Brooke has a giant book full of the old golden book classics, that I so love to read to her. "Baby Dear" "The Pokey Puppy" "I can Fly" I do remeber those I guess that is why I love to read them to the kids.

I had 2 days of bad crocheting, I felt so lousy that I just kept messing u, so I put it down and finally today, I actually got a Teddy bear crocheted. Of course lack of sleep has not helped much. Hopefully after using the nebulizer I will be able to sleep tonight.

Ok I really do know how to type and spell. But I guess this lap top doesn't. I reread my comment and was ashamed of all the misspellings and missing letters. Of course the "P" is always stubborn.
