Day 6 of the August contest
Good Morning.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and you were blessed and renewed. I was thinking I was going to be a little down this week, with my son off to college, my friend Shelly on a cruise and my mom and sisters away for the week, I felt abandoned. It was going to be just me and the yarn this week. But God showed me otherwise. I got a phone call from a firend I've missed talking to for months, it made my day. A woman who was angry with me for months finally yesterday came to say she was sorry and mend things up.
So even when things look like it's too dark to see, hold tight to the promise that God's eye is always on you, His hand is always holding you and His love will NEVER leave you.
I am expecting this to be a week of miracles.
Now onto the contest...
How do you store your yarn supplies? Do you have a shelf, a chest, bags, boxes etc.?
For me I have some of those plastic afghan bags, I have one for solid colors of acrylic, one for varrigated acrylic, one for what I call specialty yarn (not acrylic...lol) and then I have a huge box of cotton on the back of my bed, and two more huge boxes of yarn that I don't know where to store it yet. And I still want more... hmmm perhaps I have a yarn addiction. LOL
Leave your comments, tell others about the contest, and have a wonderful day everyone.

I have 3 huge tupperware bins that I store my yarn in... no fancy sorting amongst the boxes though(just teasing a little, hee hee) Lots of baby yarn and more and more cotton now that I'm getting addicted to dishcloths and such!
I have big bins that have lids so that I can stack them .I have tons of yarn.I am addicted to yarn ,I buy it when I don't need it but someday I will.My daughter says "Mom why are you buying that you already have it? I say to her this is my hobby" Leave me alone.run along and let me look now"
I have a closet full of variated yarns, and a table with a hole inside where I store my cotton yarn.
And a big basket beside the couch.
I have a room full of tote bins (15 of them I think, at last count), plus two rows of shelving that run the length of the room (which holds two layers of plastic bags), plus hooks under the bottom of the shelving from which hang more plastic bags full of yarn.
The room in question is the second - the spare - bedroom of the house. So we have yarn instead of an overnight guest.

I have 2 large bins, one medium bin, and 2 smaller bins. I also store special yarn in baskets on the shelves in my "GirlieRoom". I store my needles in a pottery pitcher, and in 2 needle rolls. And then there is my patterns that I have in 3 ring binders.
I have a room full... I have recently started shifting to a new storage system from HSN that I really like... It lets me see what I have so hopefully I will use it rather than just buy more....
I also have yarn stashed under my son's bed, in two chests [wooden in the Living room and in a knitting basket with a lid in the Living room...
And all of that is just the yarn...
I also have roving and two spinning wheels...... fiber has nearly overtaken my home... HELP!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kathy, I bought some clear containers that I think are supposed to be for files. They stack up nicely and I can see what yarn I have without opening it. I also have the large clear flat containers. Then next to my spot on the couch where I usually do my crocheting, I have a wonderful knitting caddy bag that my dd bought me for Christmas. I can put the project I'm working on in it when I'm not crocheting.
Hi AK~
I have 2 big units with three drawes each that contain most of my yarn. I have a bag of yarn on the floor that someone gave, but it smells funny, so I have not mixed it with other yarn yet. I also have a knitting basket and a hobo bag for taking projects places. At my grandmas (out of state) I have 9 boxes of yarn odds and ends she gave me when she went to assisted living, and I need to transport it home someday.
I have yarn saved in several ways. Shopping bags, rubber totes, and a large see-through plastic bag that a comforter came in. It's perfect for showing what yarns are in it. All are kept in my craft room SOMEWHERE :)
I have a rack like at the stores that I stack my yarn in.3x4 sections. They are all placed in plastic bags (the kind newspapers come in)to prevent them from tangaling. My threads are in totes I think I have 2 of them. And my cotton is in a big bag received from bernat yarns when they were here for the yarn festival.
