Day 15, can you believe it?
It's Wednesday already, half the week is almost over and so is half of this contest. I am really having fun trying to think up some different things each day to blog... it's definately keeping me on my toes.
I am a little late getting started this morning, I woke up early and decided to get my printed out patterns inside the plastic page protector sheets and into a notebook. This picture only reflects the patterns I have printed out, on my computer are probably 500 more I have yet to try. I LOVE looking at patterns and thinking about who I could make these beautiful things for.
My question today is:
HOW DO YOU STORE YOUR PATTERNS? COMPUTER, NOTEBOOK, ANYWHERE YOU CAN FIND A SPOT? ARE YOU ORGANIZED (IE: STORED VIA CATEGORY OR DIFFICULTY) OR DO YOU NEED TO LOOK THROUGH TONS BEFORE YOU FIND THE ONE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR?
POST YOUR ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND GET AN ENTRY IN THE CONTEST TODAY
Oh and before I forget, in the mayonnaise jar, there were 22 sets of straight needles and 7 circular needles. Amazing huh? Some of those needles are super thin like size 1, the orange ones are those battery light up needles so you can knit in the dark. I think there are also about 10 crochet hooks in there too. I like having my supplies close by, lol. I need to find something to keep the circulars in, right now they are in a zip lock baggie.
It's church tonight, I look forward to the fellowship. I love my church family.
Today I need to clean around my desk area, I am ashamed to say I think Adam left something underneath it, some kind of food or something, because there is a definate unpleasant smell and I can't find the source. YUCK. And there is so much mail etc that I missed whatever it is/was.
{{{sigh}}} I'd rather be knitting... LOL

Finally, it took 20 minutes to get past the "server error" to post a comment. So if you don't get a lot today, you know why.
I keep all of my patterns in sheet protectors, and put them in a plastic tote, they are grouped by items, cloths, baby, toys, etc. I have to keep them in a tote, so that Sir William does not get to them. Like he does so much other stuff.
This is the second time to reply...dumb me should have copied it before I tried publishing...I know better this time...
Anyway, I have tons of patterns saved all over the place. I try to keep them all in catagory...crochet together, knitting together, plastic canvas together, etc.
When I make a pattern that I would like to make another time I print it (either from a scan or from a cd) and put it in a binder so when I go to do something again I can find it without the trouble of going through tons of other patterns.
Gosh, you binder people are so organized! I need to do that one of these days!
I just throw everything in a manilla folder - which is of course overflowing. An embarrassing mess for sure!
I have a binder that is sorted by type of item, "blanket, baby blanket, household stuff, dishcloths, pattern basics, etc" I also have probably 200 on my computer that i use. Haven't got a round to printing those, but they work well when I'm on the road... pull up the file and knit away!!
I have my printed patterns in 2 binders right now, they are sorted by item type---hats, handwear, sweaters, dishclothes, baby, etc...Then there are the patterns on the computer that I have saved but haven't decided if I want to print or not, just saved in one file. I do plan to eventually have a binder for each catagory.
My patterns are in a binder. And online and in a notebook I have so many I dont know where to start lol.
I only have spurts of being organized.
There is a binder - somewhere - that has a large number of patterns, divided by type - sweaters, socks, shawls, etc.. But heaven knows where it is! (Or where it has been for the past year.)
I have 19 separate Folders bookmarked on the computer - with individual patterns separated as to type - sweaters, caps, shawls, bags, booties and slippers, mini, Barbie etc. etc.
Plus another two Folders bookmarked which are accumulations of patterns to be further checked out: knitting patterns, and knitting magazines.
Nothing is organized as to difficulty however; only pattern type.
And then I have the patterns I have printed out - and/or knit - lately. There is a pattern stash by the sofa in the living room (next to what is currently OTN) and another printed pattern stash here next to the computer. Which haven't made it to the living room.

I wish I could say I was organized but not so...I try...lol
I have my printed patterns in either a binder or on a clipboard.
I also have a ton saved on my computer, this is where I am a little organized...I have folders for types..scarves, shawls, dishcloths, etc. Maybe one day I will get them all organized so someone else can find something. lol
I have mine in 3 ring binders which are on a 5 shelf book case in my guest bedroom, all in order of baby, wearable, dolls, etc. I also spent all last winter getting them in catagories on a cd but now I have more so I have started to use jump sticks and I love them. That is what I use most for all the fun patterns I download or scan. Sometimes I think I am too organized. lol.
