Tuesday-Technical Difficulties, Nope Not Me, LOL

Guess what I did again today?
Yep I cleaned some more. Today I washed out all the kitchen cupboards, the pantry and the closet shelves. I also wiped out the inside of the stove again because it looked streaky. That word "streaky" makes me laugh... I still remember when "The Streak" was popular. I remember once my cousin Bob when he was maybe 14 streaking around our neighborhood one day. OMG that was funny. We all got in trouble but it was funny just the same. OK how did I get there talking about cleaning an oven???

CONTEST STUFF:
So do you have a CRAZY memory of something that happened in your childhood? If you're brave enough post about it in the comment section. If you're not brave, no problem, just enjoy the memory and then tell me how it made you smile when you did. LOL. This is the last week for the contest so make sure to comment every day this week to get your entries.

I decided to start a grown up sock tonight while watching Americam Idol. Hardest part for me is remembering what part of the sock is what. This helps.

I am using DPN's. I have done magic loop but when I use the circulars where I join in the round I get this huge gap, I know it eventually fills in but it bothers me and makes me feel like I have done something wrong, but with the DPN's I don't get a gap at all. I think that is the way for me to go when it comes to knitting socks.

Isn't that a cool diagram? If you click on it it will take you to the cool blog I found. Step by step instructions. I'd show you the picture of my sock so far but my son has the camera. So tomorrow I'll post my progress.

Just watching Biggest Loser and then I am going to go to bed. Have a great night and sweet dreams everyone.

as if something crazy is going to stand out in my memory. I do remember my friend and I playing pretend and she drew a map to somewhere in our pretendville on my bedroom wall with a perm. marker. To say my mom wasn't pleased would be an understatement

Sleep tight.

I'mALMOST on my way there!@

I love the TECHknitting blog. She gives such helpful hints!

It's very late, and my brain is mush. I'm sure there are some funny childhood memories, but I just can't think of them right now.

I do remember when The Streak was popular, and subsequently streaking became popular. I attended a rather large high school, with close to 500 in my graduating class. The night of our graduation, someone did streak across the stage. It made an otherwise somber (read boring) event somewhat fun for awhile.

Wow, that is a cool diagram. I wish I had that when I learned to knit socks. I know I knit them inside out with the the needle I was working off pointed away from me. I figured it out, though, so all's good. Can't wait to see your socks!

Hmmm, aside from forming a chain line where we moved someones wood pile and restacked it to block their driveway? (which would have been fine if the first snow had not fallen later that night, getting the wood wet and a pain to have to move it)

off to clean now myself. I had no clients pre booked so just marked out and plan to get busy!!

I did my socks with 4 needles instead of 5, but one day I'd like to do a pattern with the added needle, just because. I like using dpn's, strangely enough.

My childhood. Let's see. I was out riding my bike one day (6th grade, I believe) and I saw some boys walking down another street. I wanted to ride by them and show off, so I went to turn the bike around, skidded on some dirt, overturned the bike and broke my ankle! LOL What an idiot.

Helps me understand some of the things kids do today, that's for sure. :)

We were all sitting around at the dinner table the other night, and talking about the time my friends husband tried to kill my pot bellied pig...we laughed until we cried. I'll have to post about it one day...it's a long story!

PS - Hubby said that my packages arrived! Thanks so much. I'll be home on Sunday, and plan to use them right away!

I was looking at your picture of the parts to a sock and decided that the word "instep" is misleading to me. It just seems like it should be inside something, not on top of the foot. I think that is the biggest problem I have when working on socks, I have to rethink the word when I am reading the directions. lololol Yes, I am weird.

Oh man, I used to ride the subway 3-4 in the morning by myself with my Walkman on- loud! The rest I can't speak on! ;-x

I saw the word 'subway' on the precious comment, and realized that I just told this story to my kids last week when I took them on the T in Boston...I used to work a night shift at Mass General Hospital. Got off at 8am, dead tired. (I slept even less back then- I was 20!) I used to ride the T home. One day I fell asleep on the train, must have been around 8:15am or so, and woke up at noon! The engineer let me ride that darned train ALL morning! (They're supposed to throw you off at the stop after mine.) He never said a word to me when I woke up, just waved goodbye. I was mortified!!

I've never tried magic loop. Dpn's work for me and I'm happy using them so guess I'll stick with the tried and true :)

Good luck with your sock knitting :)
