I spent the afternoon in the education class that all patients hoping to have gastric bypass surgery must attend. I went as support for a friend of mine in the process. And all I can say is GOD is AWESOME. He has changed my life and given me HOPE again. I am so thankful that He has changed my mind set and given me wisdom. I can almost NOT remember what it was like when food controled my life instead of God. I heard 100 times today if I heard it once, weight loss surgery is NOT the answer, it's just a TOOL. You have to want to do the work, you have to want to make the changes, you have to believe. The surgery just helps you in the beginning stay focused, but it won't do it for you. I heard people there that were ready to make a life change and others that even with surgery were going to struggle, because they haven't yet changed their thinking. I have been losing weight since 1983. I have lost hundreds, and gained thousands. This past year I awakened, I decided that living was worth more then a candy bar, that breathing was worth more then a sandwich. And all the credit goes to God, He is awesome and I am so thankful.

I finished one of the dishcloths today while I was out...
Close up of the front side and... then the back side
This is the
Waffle Texture dishcloth designed my Maile. She has some awesome patterns and this one was super douper easy. Perfect for a long day out.

I wish I could post more, but I am exhausted and have to go to bed. Have a great night and sweet dreams.

Beautiful, Kathy!! I know people who have had this surgery and don't have the motivation. For them, this is a useful waste of their time, pain, energy and sometimes money.
But, for those motivated--WOW!! What a tool!! And where does the motivation come from? Deep within ourselves where God places it to change us into the person HE wants us to be!!
I love that dishcloth, too!! I'm going to have to check out that pattern--I have one similar but not quite.....

What am i thankful for?
I'm thankful for a lot of things... but this week I am so very thankful that God has sent me the best man in the world to be my boyfriend... He's such a great guy and I truly to believe he's the best! :D He's helped me get through one of the worst weeks of my life! lol
I am also very thankful for my family this week as well! They have helped me tremendously this week too! I have been so stressed but they made me laugh, let me vent, and listened to all my going ons and my mom is a prayer warrior so it helps to know she is constantly praying for me! :D Have a great day! And thank you for the AWESOME post!! :D
what a confirming post for me! I decided yesterday to live a life that is more positive. Instead of complaining about "bad" things, I want to thank God for what he has given me. For instance, instead of getting mad at the kids fighting, I now thank God that I have healthy children who can communicate. Loudly. LOL. Really, and I know this will make a BIG difference in my life and how I see others.
Right now I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head, food in my mouth, and clothes on my back. So many are hit hard by this economy and our suffering is very minimal compared to others. God really does have his Hand on us. Thank you Jesus!!!
I love these posts. Not only do you show us your progress and how it's changed your life, you also keep us on track by having these awesome uplifting positive posts about life. You are awesome. Are you an angel?
What am I thankful for? So many things but I guess most of all my husband who is my best friend and my rock. He always says we are only strong together and it is so true.
I'm thankful for so much...but today it is that I'm alive...which is a miracle....God is so good!
your weightloss is amazing! I'm struggling so much I admire you.
what am I grateful for today? Many things, the sun is shining and its warm. I've been well enough to go out of the house. My son is home from Uni so our family feels complete.
I am thankful to be alive, for my family, for my family's and my health, for my job, a place to live, food to eat and clothes on my back. I am also thankful for my friends!
I'm thankful for my family that loves me, my life, that I wake up each day. I am so blessed, just wish everyone was.
I'm thankful for life and for my husband and kids:)((((Hugs)))) Darcy
That was beautifully written, Kathy!
I am thankful foremost for my relationship with my heavenly Father; and I am thankful for a godly husband and helpmeet, who so diligently studies God's Word and shares with me the divine revelations he receives!
What an inspiring post. Thank you for sharing!
What am I thankful for:
My family.
My dogs.
My friends.
My home, my husband being employed with benefits, having the "extras" that many people only dream of.
Being able to look past all the bad things that we see and hear about,in the news... and knowing that there are beautiful people in this world, who have kind hearts and truly work to make the world a better place.
The knowledge that comes from knowing my Heavenly Father, and studying his gospel.
Knowing that the best is yet to come.
Wonderful Bloggers who share their talents, wisdom, and love!
