Monday- Easter ER, But I Survived... And Prizes Too

Well yesterday started out great, but got progressivly worse as the day went on. I haven't been so sick in a long time. My high tolerance for pain could not handle it, so around 8PM I finally went to the emergency room. For me to go to the ER, especially on a holiday, it must be pretty bad. My sister drove me and dropped me off anf then picked me back up around 3AM. Long night. Turns out I had a UTI, which was causing all the pain and naseua. I got hooked up to fluids via IV as I was also dehydrated by this point, they gave me nasuea meds, antibiotics and morphine. I basically slept through most of it. I feel better today, the back pain is much better, still sore in other areas and still can't eat anything but I am getting in all my water today so that's good.
Look what arrived in the mail today!! I won a needle holder from Michele. But she didn't just send me the needles holder she also sent one skein of Adrienne Vittadini Bettina yarn in a really pretty lime green color, and it came with a pattern for a one skein Carvat.
And a set of stitch markers that she made. The picture is blurry but they are really really great.
I finished the 4th dishcloth for Libby today they are her prize for helping me name Barbie, my car.
This is a picture of all four cloths. I hope to get them out in the mail tomorrow.

Speaking of prizes these are the four stitch marker prizes remaining for the winner this week to choose from. These were made by Bea, who by the way got married this weekend, congratulations Bea. If you get a chance go by her post and wish her the best.

Anyway last week we had 115 comments made and REGIS, my trusty random generator guy, chose comment number 61. That was the fifth comment made on Thursday last week an dit belonged to Superwoman_2002. Congratulations Zaneta, just let me know which of the four remaining prizes you want and I'll send it right out.

CONTEST STUFF:
Since my brain is wiped out I guess I'll just ask a stupid question. Have you ever gone to the ER on a major holiday? Post a comment to receive Monday's entry this week.
~
I guess that's about it for me, I am still pretty tired, probably because I haven't eaten, or maybe it's a Morphine withdrawl, who knows. Anyway I hope I can sleep tonight. And I wish you aall a great night too, sweet dreams everyone.

Ouch! I can still remember the horrendous pain I experienced with a UTI a few years ago. Fortunately, we have a minor-emergency clinic opened until about 7:00, and I managed to get into it before they closed. I can feel your pain! You should be much better soon now that you're on antibiotics.

Congrats to Superwoman! :-)

I have been to the ER on holidays MANY times, but it was always with one of my kids. In fact, it seemed about every year at Christmas, I'd end up there with one or the other of them. Poor kids, for years, they associated Christmas with being sick. Their illnesses ran the gammut-pneumonia, ear infections, bronchitis, etc.

So glad to hear that you're feeling better!! Make sure to continue to drink plenty of fluids to flush that nasty infection out of your system!!

Congratulations to Superwoman!! YEAH!!

As for ER's, I've seen my share of them, and I spent one whole Christmas day until 3 a.m. the next day, but it wasn't for me but one of the kids. So, I can't say that I personally was seen, but I was there!! No fun ever, but especially on a holiday!!

When my oldest son was little we seemed to end up in the ER just about every holiday with an ear infection. So sorry you ended up there on Easter! Hope you are feeling much better now.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

I have not been to the ER for me on holidays but have been for family members. My eldest daughter laid open her thumb on the serrated edge of super-economy size box of foil. She was putting it away and tried to catch it instead of just letting it fall. And the last couple holidays with my Mom, we seemed to end up in the ER. Finally, her doctor told her that she should "lay off the ham." She would end up retaining lots of water . . . all after consuming a heavy meal (i.e., HAM). Thinking about, she had her first heart attack on Easter Sunday.

Congrats to Zaneta!

I'm glad you're better. It's just awful to have to go to the ER.

Love the dishcloths. I think I'll always like knitting dishcloths best.

Hope you have a great week.

Kathy,
I hope you make a full recovery very soon! My grandma use to get UTIs quite regularly when she lived with us... ouchy! :(
YAY!! Thanks REGIS for choosing my number! lol ;) I like the ones in the top right corner if that's ok! :D Thank you! :)
I've never been in the ER on a holiday, but I did break my collarbone playing a pickup game of basketball about 1 1/2 years ago at college. It was a week before we started actual basketball practice and i ended up missing out on half of the season! :( Talk about a bummer! My basketball coach was in his office at the time and ended up having to drive me to the ER... he said he never saw a more sad/pathetic look on someones face than when they told me i couldn't do any physical activity INCLUDING BASKETBALL for a few months! lol...
Well, I hope you are feeling better today!! *HUGS* :D

Yep, Christmas Eve a couple of years ago. Stepped out of the kitchen, down one little step and my knee popped. My life hasn't been the same since.

Holidays are not fun at the ER. Glad you're feeling better.

It seems that our children (when young) only got hurt on major holidays...this is apparently genetic, as it's been passed down to our grandchildren. One year, on Thanksgiving, one of the grandsons, cut is forehead open...I called my OB/GYN (as he has become the "go to gu" for the entire family), and he came down to the ER and stitched the grandson's head. No waiting AND no bill...YEAH!

Hope you're feeling much better now! The wash cloths look great!

Oh no!! I hope you feel better soon. How horrible to have that pain, and on a holiday to boot. So how busy was it there?
I've never gone to the ER on a holiday. I've only been once, for myself and only a few times for all my kids, thank goodness. Yeah, not a fun place to be!

the cloths look great and so does your prize!

congrats zaneta!

Ouch on the UTI. I avoid the ER like the plague, but then we were military for years and everyone went to the er due to being unable to get a same day appt at the reg dr's. Did drag daughter dear with me across island at 1 am (in a jeep in winter with no roof or doors...in hawaii) though one night with tonsilitus so bad had hubby not been to sea they would have admitted me. I only went due to the pain and i swore i felt liquid coming from my ears. (i think i have your good pain tolerance) Feel better Kat!

I'm glad you are better!!! The last time I went to the ER, I drove myself because I guess I was in denial, and ended up getting an emergency appendectomy at 2 in the morning and staying at the hospital for 7 days!!! ha! Yikes! I am so glad you are on the road to feeling better....

Bummer to get sick on a holiday! Glad you're on the mend. And glad the goodies all got there! Enjoy!

Only a handful of ER visits in the family, and none on a holiday. But once I tried to kill DH with a milkshake, or so he says. (He was actually having a post-op infection, but he swears it was the milkshake.)
