These three pictures are of some crocheted ornaments I worked on this weekend. I got the pattern ideas from Crochet Central patterns, I did revise them all a little, but the basic ideas came from there. I may try a few other ones too, like a dolphin and a mermaid...there were a lot on there, I haven't even looked at them all yet.
This dishcloth is from the 2008 Calendar I posted about a couple days ago... I loved the look of the pattern and had to try it out. It was pretty easy to follow even though it looks hard, if you haven't yet considered buying the calendar yourself, there are some pretty nice patterns in there. Here is the link to the calendar blog again...http://knittingcalendar.blogspot.com/
So there you go, that is how I spent my Saturday, what were you all up to?
Oh the answer to yesterdays Guess was 60, there were sixty little skeins of yarn in that box, and I think I threw away 20 before that. Not too bad of a deal huh, for $3.00 at a yard sale. And I used that yarn to make the above animal ornaments too. So you can bet I could decorate many a package top or tree with all that yarn, right?
TODAY'S CONTEST ASSIGNMENT OF COURSE, IS TAKE A REST DAY SUNDAY... REMEMBER TO TAKE SOME TIME FOR YOURSELF TODAY, REFRESH YOUR MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT. REMEMBER TO BE THANKFUL FOR ALL YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN AND TO SHARE WITH OTHERS THE JOY YOU KNOW.
POST IN THE COMMENT SECTION A SIMPLE HELLO, OR TELL US HOW YOU ARE RELAXING THIS WEEKEND, WHATEVER YOU LIKE. ANY COMMENT WILL GET YOU AN ENTRY FOR THE OCTOBER PRIZE.
That said I need to go take a shower, I am still very sleepy. I had a hard time falling asleep last night, it was 2AM and I was still awake. I think I was afraid I'd over sleep again and be late for church that I couldn't fall asleep. I guess maybe I'll nap this afternoon, as the race cars are zooming around in circles on the TV lulling me to sleep, LOL.
DH is hunting again. He is going to unfamiliar territory and actually hoping to see a bear or two. he asked for some bright ribbon yarn to mark trees so he doesn't get lost. Of course since I have organized my stash I knew right where to find some, but it looks like he forgot it, uh oh!!!
Stay tuned tomorrow to see how it all turned out... will I have a bear skinned rug on the floor, or will I be sending out a search party for the man who never asks for directions?...LOL, come on you all know what I'm talking about here, ha ha ha.
Have a wonderful day, may the Lord shine upon you and all those you love and fill you with peace and joy and refresh your spirits so you can face what lies ahead. Good or bad, happy or sad, easy or hard, the lord will be beside you all the way.
Amen.

now those are some mighty cute ornaments....Something nice for some children to even use for little balls. Now that is an idea for the DVS. Ya sure and when would I hae the time to do them. As if the 3 afghans I have to do are not enough along with the usual cloths, hats and scarfs.
Hope you have a very relaxing and blessed day.
AK, those ornaments are adorable... gonna have to figure out how to knit some ;-)
Good luck to DH getting back out of the woods ;-) Has he had much success with his hunting in general? I've never eaten Bear meat..but my dad was a big duck and deer man in my youth..
I've got big plans for a relaxing day today... I had a crazy busy last few days!
Morning all... I'd say good morning, but I spent half the night fighting an oncoming cold and feel horrible. went to sleep around midnight, woke at 4 am, til about 8 am and now I'm awake again at 1015am... argh. no fever, but hot and cold, stuffy head, coughy, sneezy,(can I name all the dwarfs you think?) ick. It hasn't even snowed here and I'm sick... and i don't get sick all that often, bleh! But I don't have anything planned today, so i can cuddle up, maybe knit depending on how i'm feeling, watch some football and nascar and get better!! Hope you all have a relaxing sunday!
Cute ornaments!
I don't have any real plans for the day. Maybe I'll go for a walk if the weather clears up.
Hi Kathy, The ornaments are adorable. I especially like the deer. Do you think I could do that dishcloth? Since I have the calendar, I'll have to look it up and give it a try.
I am resting and crocheting today, because I sort of overdid it yesterday. The historical society was decorating the Civic League Building for halloween and cleaning inside for our chicken pileau dinner which is next Friday. My friend picked me up a little after 10 am. I helped mop, tried to move chairs (discovere that I had to do one at a time because of my knee) and then helped decorate. We ended up needing more things, so I went with her to two thrift stores, Dollar General, and finally Kmart. When we returned, everyone had left except two ladies who were eating their lunch and playing cards. They told us that two of the other ladies had gone for lunch, so we expected them back. The two who were there left and we sat waiting. Finally after a futile attempt to contact them, we went for lunch! Then we came back and finished decorating with the things we purchased. Our lunch was around 3, so by the time I got home it was almost 5! Dh wanted dinner, imagine that! lol
Needless to say, it was a very busy day. My hip was killing me during the night, and my knee was sore. So today is my day of rest.
After dinner, I'm joining my dd's for a prayer vigil for my neighbor. She hasn't been heard from since April. It's believed that she has been murdered, but police couldn't get a sample of her dna for a compairison of the blood found in the car. She was only 40 year old.
After that, I believe that Becca is coming back here for our regular movie night and so she can do her laundry.
Enjoy your day of rest. The race cars are humming in the background. There's no way I could take a nap because dh gets too excited watching the race! lol
I hope your dh returns home safely.
I love those ornaments. The smiley faces are too cute but the snowman is definitely my favorite. I collect snowmen so this is another good reason to get this crochet figured out. A bear skin rug would be great but I'm wondering who is gonna clean that thing...eww. Hope you have a rest filled day.
HUGS!
Hi Kathy! I love your contest so far. You have come up with some pretty great ideas.
