It's the last day of the contest... Boy this month really flew by. Leaves me feeling like I do after reading a good book or watching a great movie... I feel like something is missing. Most likely the next contest will be in December... I will need a month to gather my wits and be creative again, LOL. But I will continue to blog daily, it's part of my daily routine now. I may use November to search other blogs and see what others out there are doing... maybe we can play some type of game... if you find a cool blog post it in the comment section, so we can all visit it too.
My vacuum is here. It's a Kenmore Upright with accessories and it's wonderful. Here is a picture of it in front of the enemy... the wood stove, LOL. I haven't tried it yet, I just took it out of the box this morning.
I am going to the Dr's tonight for a six month check up. They can do the blood work there if I haven't had any food, so I am fasting today. The appointment is at 6pm and then right after that I will go to church, so it will be 9pm before I finally get to eat. I'd love a nice steak, and baked potato and brussell sprouts... but that's not gonna happen. Because it will be late most likely I will have an egg. Oh well.
OK OUR LAST CONTEST ASSIGNMENT...
TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURE BELOW. CAN YOU GUESS WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT'S MADE FROM? I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY CREATIVE. POST YOUR COMMENTS IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND RECEIVE YOUR FINAL ENTRY INTO THE OCTOBER CONTEST FOR THE MYSTERY PRIZE.
I WILL BE DRAWING THE NAME OF THE WINNER THIS WEEKEND, AND MAIL OUT THE PRIZE WITHIN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS HOPEFULLY SOONER, BUT JUST IN CASE I PROCRASTINATE DON'T WORRY IT WILL BE THERE.
MAKE SURE TO VISIT THE BLOG TO SEE WHO WON AND THEN THE WINNER NEEDS TO EMAIL ME THEIR MAILING ADDRESS. I'LL GO INTO MORE DETAILS LATER.
Well I almost forgot to tell you I designed another dishcloth pattern yesterday... It's a Scottie Dog pattern. I have already put it on my pattern blog if you want to see it. The pattern was done with pattern on every line, first time I did a pattern that way. I am in the process of knitting it with the pattern on every other line for those who prefer that method, it's almost done. This was a request from someone. I love designing and really think I am starting to improve.
I guess that's all for me now. It's POGO Wednesday so maybe I'll play a couple games before I go back to knitting.

Day 30, Winter in NY
Well you know winter has arrived in New York when my husband decides it's time to start the wood stove. Now most of you haven't gone through a winter with me yet, but you will soon come to see the wood stove and I are not actually friends. occasionally I enjoy the warmth but most of the time we are practically enemies. I was born and raised in CA, don't think we even had a heater, lol... my husband however grew up in the wooded area of Upstate NY. I prefer to have the breeze of a fan 24/7 and he likes to get the house to a sweltering 95 degrees in winter. My house is small and the wood stove is in the living room, about 10 feet from my bed. Anyway... I am sure you'll hear more about this metal monster until Spring is finally sprung... So last night he comes home COLD, it was cold but not that cold... he decides to start the wood stove to take off the chill. Now all Spring, Summer, and Fall I kind of use this as a storage shelf. I have finally cleared it off anticipating this day, but somehow a sock fell behind the stove and rested onto the chimney pipe that goes through the wall. No one noticed it. He starts the stove and it's COOKING and CRACKLING. I am on the phone with my son Jim (another story, maybe for tomorrow) and the smoke alarm starts going off... great probably burning a bird (another story) I thought... I walk to the stove and open the door and the flames are blaring through the chimney like a Forrest fire, it's burning HOT. I am calling out to Gary to come in and fix it and stop the smoke alarm, the house is full of smoke and I am on oxygen, not a good situation. Then I look up and the outside of the chimney between the stove and the wall is on fire. I can now see the house burning down, I am screaming his name... finally he comes in from outside... and after a minute or two sees the sock on fire. The chimney got so hot it started the stray sock on fire. Can we just say from that moment on my night went down hill. If I had my wits about me I'd have taken a picture of the flames, instead you can see the stove as it looks this morning. LOL... Friends, meet my enemy the WOOD STOVE
Just another comment on Ravelry... No you don't have to have a blog to get into Ravelry. You just need a computer. It definitely is a place to store your work, stash and patterns but is also a wealth of patterns both free and for sale, and a community of knitters and crocheters to help with questions etc. There are forums and groups and so much more I haven't even found yet. It takes about a month to get invited in, and even if you don't use all of it's benefits at first, it's free and it's a pretty cool place.
That said if you are in Ravelry already, please add me to your friends list or tell me your Ravelry name and I will find you, OK? I am gimpykatk on Ravelry and you can see all my patterns on there if you search for Aunt Kathy.
Oh did I mention I should be getting a new vacuum today. It's a sad life when you are getting excited about being able to vacuum again. UPS said it is on the truck to come here today. I was thinking about learning a new stitch today, I saw this pretty pattern with cable needles, but I can't decide if I want to do that or if I want to vacuum all the rugs instead, LOL.
Now onto the contest... Are you still with me?
WELL I AM NOT ALWAYS EASY BUT WHEN I'M DONE I LOOK GOOD
IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED ME OUT YET THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD
I CAN CHANGE UP A PATTERN AND RAISE IT TO A NEW HEIGHT
AND I AM QUITE BEAUTIFUL WHEN I AM DONE JUST RIGHT
YOU NEED THREE NEEDLES INSTEAD OF JUST THE NORMAL TWO
BUT TWO HANDS ARE ALL YOU NEED TO PULL THIS STITCH THROUGH
ONE STEP AT A TIME AND YOU'LL SOON SEE YOU ARE ABLE
CAN YOU FIGURE ME OUT YET? IT'S CLEAR I AM A ????
POST YOUR ANSWER TO THIS RIDDLE IN THE COMMENT SECTION FOR YOUR CONTEST ENTRY. REMEMBER YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CORRECT, YOU JUST NEED TO COMMENT.
Well we are about 400+ away from the 2000 hit goal... do you think I can get 200 hits a day for the next 2 days??? Wouldn't that be awesome?
That said I think I will get some breakfast and do a little knitting before UPS gets here. LOL Or maybe I'll be lost in Ravelry land...

Monday day 29, a new week begins
Well it's Monday.
I designed another dishcloth pattern yesterday. A woman Barb had sent me several requests for specific patterns, this is one of them. I have been trying to figure out how to make this for at least a month or more. Yesterday I got my inspiration, finally. So it's done. I posted the picture and pattern on my pattern blog, it's called the STAR OF DAVID. I tried to post the picture here but blogger is having issues this morning.
Church was wonderful yesterday. I have been stressing over some personal things, and really felt like God spoke to me pretty clearly Sunday. I love it when that happens. But I should also know when God starts moving in my life the devil is never far behind trying to trip me up. I got tripped yesterday, never saw it coming. It happened moments after I left the church to go to the market. But once I realised what happened I was able to get back up and that's when the dishcloth pattern was revealed. I love it when God beats the devil, and He always does.
Oh my cat, we never named him, is old. My sister named him Alex because he reminded her of the guy in the movie Desperado. Anyway he is very old, getting skinny and rarely wants to go outside anymore. I think he is deaf now too. Well he sleeps anywhere and everywhere, and yesterday and this morning without knowing he was there on my desk chair I have sat right on top of him. First time I thought it was a pile of clothes or something, when I stood up the cat just stayed curled up there, I thought I had killed it. Nope, it just stayed there sleeping. Today as soon as my behind felt the lump under it I knew it was the cat. Geez... We bought our house in 1992, my son was 7. It was a Wednesday night and I was on my way home from church, a friend was driving me and she said "Oh look, your kitty is sitting in the window upstairs" I said " We don't have a cat" ... "Um yes you do and it's in the window" Sure enough Joe said the kitten followed him home. I found out later it followed him home because he had a string tied around it neck pulling it along, lol. So because we don't have a cat, we never named him, lol.
Glad to see you all checked out Mrs. B's blog, wasn't that a fun read? If any of you come across more contests out there, post it in my comment section, I am going to keep the links on the side of my blog for all contests I know about and when they end. Can you tell I love contests?
LET'S GET ONTO TODAY'S CONTEST ASSIGNMENT.
IT'S TIME FOR A POLL...
RAVELRY... THE KNITTING AND CROCHET NETWORK https://www.ravelry.com/account/login
1- I AM ALREADY A MEMBER AND LOVING IT
2- I HAVE SIGNED UP AND AM WAITING MY INVITE

4- I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT
POST YOUR ANSWER TO THE POLL IN THE COMMENT SECTION FOR YOUR CONTEST ENTRY. THAT MYSTERY PRIZE IS JUST ITCHING TO BE AWARDED TO SOMEONE.
OK I made Ravelry the poll question today because I got my invite last night. My screen name is gimpykatk (easy for me to remember, although not very creative, lol)
So those of you already in feel free to invite me as a friend, since I don't know how to do that yet. I am excited to check it out today, last night I was very tired. I did set up a profile and that's as far as I got. I signed up on September 26, and got the invite on October 28th, so it took a month. That's not too bad, really.
I guess that's about it for today... I expect to be online alot today checking things out. Oh still working on getting to the 2000th hit I think we need about 600 still, probably won't make it, but we gave it a good try, right?
See you all tomorrow, and remember God is bigger then any problem or concern you have today, the devil is like a flea compared to God, and we shall crush him underneath our feet.

Day 28, Sunday... a Day of Rest
Good Morning.
I am up, had breakfast and a long shower, french braided my hair and am just blog hopping and reading email until it's time to leave for church.
I finished my dishcloth yesterday. it's called CHOIR SINGERS, I have posted the pattern and picture on my patterns blog (see link on the right side of my blog) Here is the picture though cause I know you are all curious.
I am working on two more this weekend, and hopefully will be test knitting a couple patterns for another designer. Am I procrastinating my Christmas duties, you bet.
My sister Erin was over yesterday for a minute and I showed her my little smiley ornaments (they were made with the yarn her fiancee bought me at the yard sale... I wanted to show them I was using it) and she said she'd love a set of 50 or more smileys to decorate her tree. Help.... I don't have enough yellow. Then I got to thinking, why do they have to be yellow? I can make smileys in any color, right. Oh joy... I'm gonna be in smiley ville for a long time.
As you can see I have linked to the right side of my blog the contest I told you about the other day... well I found another one today...
Contest assignment today...
SINCE THIS IS REST SUNDAY OUR ASSIGNMENT TODAY IS A FUN THING. I WANT YOU TO GO VISIT THIS BLOG TODAY, HER POST IS A FUN READ FOR ONE, SHE HAS A NATURAL TALENT, AND SHE IS HAVING A LITTLE CONTEST THERE TOO, ONLY RUNS THROUGH WEDNESDAY THE 31ST, IT'S A GUESS CONTEST AND I KNOW HOW MUCH YOU ALL LOVE GUESS CONTESTS. PRIZE IS SOME YARN AND A HOMEMADE DISHCLOTH.

Yesterday I finally stopped procrastinating about freezing our abundance of tomatoes. Alas I waited too long for some of them, they were not savable. But I got 4 food saver bags full and it wasn't as hard as I feared. I have 3 brown bags of green tomatoes ripening on the counter too, so I will get to these tomatoes as soon as they ripen.
Still have a zillion dishes to do, but the laundry is almost finished.
Hope you all have a wonderful day today, let God refresh you today. I love Sunday's.
See everyone tomorrow.

Saturday, day 27 of the October contest
That's my little guy modeling the hat I made from Wendy's pattern. He was so happy with that blue hat, lol. Usually we can't get him to wear one, but he liked this one and put it on to show everyone. It was so cute. Obviously it's an adult size but that didn't seem to matter. Now if I can get him to keep his shirt on, hahahahahaha
This is the first ear warmer I made for my son Jim... just a basic garter stitch, I did finish the second one which I doubled the width and then folded it over and made it double thick. I figured that would for sure keep his ears from freezing and breaking off. He said they would actually "break" off without this, lol.
I took Adam out again yesterday, we went to my moms and had a play date with Hannah and Colin. He had a blast. We had made a treasure map earlier that day with a big X on it, so we brought that with us and they had a little treasure hunt in the backyard. They got sidewalk chalk and drew X's all around and kept finding different treasures. Adam loves treasure maps. While there my mom gave me a bag of yarn she got at a yard sale, it had a half finished crocheted V-neck short sleeved sweater shirt in it and all the yarn to finish it. There were also a couple pages torn from a magazine with the pattern in it. The magazine was a Woman's day and the article was from April 1976. LOL. Guess she has had that UFO for some time, huh? Anyway it's made with a size 1 crochet hook, but I am going to try to finish it. If I can by Christmas I think I'll give it to my mom, she really liked the pattern.
I also designed a new dishcloth last night, I was almost ready for bed and got an inspiration, so I got out the graph paper and started drawing. I haven't test knitted it yet, that will be my project today.
OK ONTO TODAY'S CONTEST STUFF...
IT'S TIME FOR A GUESS PICTURE... BELOW IS MY BAG OF SOLID COLORS OF ASSORTED YARNS, SOME IN SKEINS MOST IN BALLS... I'M SURE IT'S A SHOCK TO YOU BUT THIS BAG IS NOT ALL OF IT, BUT I CAN'T FIT IN ANYMORE YET, LOL. SO TAKE A LOOK AT THE BAG, SEE IF YOU CAN GUESS THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT BALLS AND SKEINS I HAVE STUFFED IN THAT BAG.
POST YOUR GUESS IN THE COMMENT SECTION, RIGHT OR WRONG YOUR GUESS EARNS YOU ANOTHER ENTRY IN THE CONTEST OF THE OCTOBER MYSTERY PRIZE.
Well I have folded 5 loads of laundry, and have 2 more to go today... I need to change sheets on the beds and wash those. Finish still the dishes from Joe's room... yep, they are not all done yet, I got sidetracked with Adam here. Oops. Knit that new dishcloth pattern, take a LONG LONG shower, a nap, and who knows what else... a weekend does not mean rest for me. At least not today.
See everyone tomorrow... Hope your day is more fun filled then mine, LOL

October 26, 5 contest days left
Good Morning,
I am trying to type quiet as Adam is still asleep. He woke up crying at 5AM wanting to go home to Janmum (his other grandma)I got him back to sleep in my bed for now. He will go to my moms this afternoon to play with Hannah and Colin (my niece and nephew) and after that I guess I'll bring him home.
Yesterday I loaded him in the car and the two of us ventured out to the grocery store. I have not grocery shopped in well over 6 months, I always have someone else do it for me. I walked for an hour before I knew my limit had been reached and oxygen or not I needed to sit down somewhere quick. So I didn't get everything I wanted/needed but I did get a few things the baby wanted. The original goal was hot dogs and ice cream cones, yep that's what he had been asking me for before we left. Funny by the time we got to the register he was more concerned with the box of 100 calorie cupcakes I bought and a bottle of ketchup. Too funny.
I meant to post this yesterday and well Adam was awake and I totally forgot, but I was blog hoping on Wednesday and found another person having a contest. All you need to do is post for that one too, so I wanted to make sure you all knew about it so you could go there. Here is the link...
http://tabithasheart.blogspot.com/2007/10/unexpected-blessings.html
It's a pretty inspirational blog too, I am sure you will be blessed by it.
Yesterday there was a question about Close Knit Hugs, Maggie (the founder)is happy to accept any squares regardless of their size or color, we can work around anything. She prefers if they are about 8". They can be crocheted or knitted, and any patterns are wonderful. When I crochet a square I usually use an I hook... knitting can vary depending on the pattern, but I'd say maybe a #8 knitting needle or whatever you like the best, really. I also believe she has templates and stuff linked on their website as well.
Onto my contest for today...Originally I had planned on a "Guess" picture but I didn't get a chance to upload pictures yet, so I guess that's going to have to wait until tomorrow... so you get tomorrows plan today. LOL... another CAPTION, aren't you thrilled???
BELOW IS A PICTURE I FOUND ON THE INTERNET... SEE IF YOU CAN THINK UP A CAPTION FOR THIS ONE. IT'S A HOOT.
NOW REMEMBER POSTING A COMMENT IS ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO ENTER FOR THE OCTOBER MYSTERY PRIZE. THERE ARE ONLY 5 DAYS LEFT BEFORE I DRAW NAMES FOR THE WINNER. HAVE FUN.
By the way my hit counter needs to read 6719 for me to meet the 2000 hits for the month of October, as of this morning I had 6701 so I need 718 more in 5 days... we can do this right? Send your friends over, LOL... we are so close.
Oh and by the way I am here on the waiting list for Ravelry
You signed up on September 26, 2007
You are #36382 on the list.
1465 people are ahead of you in line.
12293 people are behind you in line.
71% of the list has been invited so far
Won't be long now. Maybe I'll get the invite on my birthday. Wouldn't that be cool?
I guess I'll go clear out some email while I wait for Adam to wake up.
Thank you all for playing as often as you do, it really brightens my spirit when I see your comments. God has blessed me with some pretty awesome friends on the Internet, as well as in my real life too. Contest Day 25, Thursday
Greetings from sleepyville...
I am struggling to see the computer screen today, so please excuse my typos. I got half the dishes done last night and we ended up having Pizza for dinner. Adam came over yesterday afternoon and that pretty much out an end to anything getting done after that. I still went to church and left the baby in the "capable" hands of my son Joe and Papa. Hence the reason for Pizza... I got home at 9PM and the baby was still up, and at 11:30 I was getting angry he wouldn't go to sleep. If he had a bottle he would have been out hours earlier I am sure. I think this is why they sent him to me, they couldn't handle the no bottle thing anymore. I did make them send some food though as I have not been to the grocery store in 2 weeks now.
Well last night I had the worst dream... actually it was this morning. I finally just got up. And found my oxygen was not working right. So 30 minutes later I finally have that fixed... why don't they make these machines and hoses more user friendly, that's what I want to know? Well at least I got in some morning exercises.
Actually, thank God I was able to to the bending and tinkering, months ago, this was not possible. Yes God has been taking care of me, and I am blessed.
Adam is awake now and he wants me to play NOGGIN games with him already. Right now he is sitting here on the desk telling me what the letters are on the keyboard, he is so smart. I am working on teaching him how to direct the mouse, he already know how to "click".
Yes the answer yesterday was a "HAT" Haha Shelly for trying to be different. You have probably noticed usually when I make a riddle the answer has been mentioned in the blog somewhere that same day, it's just a secret hint in case you don't obviously see the answer.
Today's contest assignment is a question... I am sure most of you have heard the question... "If you were to be out on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" I think this is an awesome question to ponder and I hope I can always answer to that question with a very confident YES... so a twist on that question for today is...
IS THERE ENOUGH EVIDENCE IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU ARE A KNITTER/CROCHETER? BASICALLY DOES ALMOST EVERYONE YOU KNOW KNOW YOU HAVE YARN IN YOUR LIFE 24/7???
POST YOUR ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND EARN ANOTHER ENTRY INTO THE OCTOBER CONTEST FOR THE MYSTERY PRIZE. MAYBE YOU EVEN HAVE A FUNNY STORY ABOUT HOW PEOPLE ASSOCIATE YOU WITH YARN... FEEL FREE TO SHARE IT WITH US.
OK Adam is now holding my left hand so I am typing with one hand and it's going pretty slow. I think this is my cue to go now.
See you all tomorrow.

Thursday, day 24, tired of me yet?
Greetings from Aunt Kathy's Place. Believe me today you DON'T want to be here in my shoes. I'll start off with the good news first... LOL
I finished making another snake scarf yesterday, and I made a matching hat. I posted the link to this scarf before but here it is again, super easy to make... the pattern is easy to follow except it had several errors in it, but they were easy to recognise and correct as you knitted.
http://funkymoeknits.blogspot.com/2006/01/free-pattern-snake-scarf.html
Now the beanie hat is a pattern I got emailed to me last night from Wendy... so Wendy I of course had to crochet it right up to see how it worked. I found no errors in the pattern and it was easy to follow. I used a contrast color for the FP HDC, and BP HDC but other then that I changed nothing. It worked up fast too. Here is a picture of it. If anyone is interested in the pattern I am guessing Wendy will have it on her blog maybe?
You wouldn't believe the dishes my son just brought down from his bedroom. He honestly needed one of those HUGE storage totes to carry them down, there is more then one whole dishwasher load there. I now know where all my glasses, plates and silverware had disappeared to. If I want to eat something these days I am washing it from the sink first cause it's the only fork and plate I can find. My other son was the same way, very frustrating. This is when I wish I had an empty nest...I can't believe I am about to show this to you... but this is what he brought down to me this morning, please send all sympathy cards to me at...

Can you all guess what I am going to be doing today? Where is Marge the Palmolive lady when you need her anyway?
Well I hope yesterdays picture was funny to you all, and if anyone was interested in making that cute roll of tissue... here is the link to the free pattern...

ONTO TODAY'S CONTEST STUFF...
I AM A RIDDLE AND THAT IS THAT
ANYONE CAN WEAR ME, SKINNY OR FAT
I LOOK GOOD ON EVERYONE EVEN A BRAT
EVEN SOLDIERS CAN WEAR ME IN COMBAT
IF I'M LEFT ON A CHAIR WHERE SOMEONE SAT
YOU CAN BET WHEN THEY LEFT I'D BE FLAT
BUT FOR NOW THOUGH I MUST END THIS CHAT
DID YOU GUESS WHAT I AM YET? I AM A...
POST YOUR ANSWER TO THE RIDDLE IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND EARN AN ENTRY FOR THE MYSTERY PRIZE TO BE AWARDED AT THE END OF THIS MONTH... ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT. REMEMBER YOUR ANSWER DOESN'T HAVE TO BE CORRECT YOU JUST NEED TO POST A GUESS. OK?
Well I guess I best get my hands in the dishwater so to speak, if you never see me again, I was swallowed up by the garbage disposal, LOL.

Tuesday... Contest Day #23
I am sure my sleep clock is off kilter, LOL. I went to bed last night at around 1:30AM. woke up at 6:30AM because Gary made a lot of noise this morning getting ready for work (I sleep in the living room)but I went back to sleep when he left and just got up at 10AM.
I called my dad last night too, he lives in San Diego and I wanted to make sure he was safe from the fires. I was hearing towns I used to live in getting evacuated. He said the fires are not close enough to them yet, but there is a lot of smoke and ash in the air so they are all staying inside. I have several relatives living in Orange county and San Diego counties and friends too. So I was awake praying for them all to be safe and spared if possible.
Adam went to see a new DR yesterday. Changing primaries because the DR he had really dropped the ball if you ask me. For his bathroom problem they were told to...
1- Give him more water ( I already do this )
2- Give him 1/4 cup prune juice before he eats ( I do this too )
3- Get him to eat more fiber rich foods ( also doing this )
4- Get him off the bottle ( been working on this too )
This Dr said the bottle is the reason his iron count is low. Interesting huh? I found a recipe for homemade brownies that have pureed spinach and carrots in them, but taste just like brownies... can't wait to try them. I also have a recipe for pumpkin muffins... a weight watcher recipe I make a lot, I love them, one box of cake mix and one can of pumpkin, mix together and cook as cupcakes as box instructs... the batter is thick and the cupcakes are huge (12) but they are low in points (a WW term) and super yummy. Anyway, Adam likes cupcakes so I am going to make some before he comes Thursday.
My son Jim called yesterday too from Chicago... he said he was one of 4 students in his studio class to get tickets to a lecture on November 5th... the speaker...
GEORGE LUCAS. He is psyched. He makes films, some are really good too, and Lucas is supposed to be telling them how he went about getting funding for Star Wars and how he got started etc. I am happy for Jim, this is maybe one of the best things to happen in Chicago so far.
I guess that's all the news I have for today. I did get a lot of my chores done yesterday, even found a $200 error in my checkbook, not to my favor either, well actually it was, because I found it before I tried to spend it, right?
So onto the contest for today...Ready to make a caption to a picture? I know you love these the best, right? Well at least I hope you like them... Here's the picture...
POST A "CAPTION" ON THE COMMENT SECTION FOR THE PICTURE ABOVE. BE CREATIVE, HAVE FUN, MAKE SOMEONE SMILE TODAY, ESPECIALLY ME...LOL. COME ON... LET'S SEE IF WE CAN GET ON A "ROLL" LOL
ANY ONE WHO POSTS A COMMENT WILL EARN AN ENTRY IN THE CONTEST FOR THE MYSTERY OCTOBER PRIZE.
By the way this picture is of an actual pattern available out there in cyber space...but I couldn't help using the picture as a Caption photo, it was just too out there.
Looking forward to comments today, I'll be back tomorrow. If anyone wants the pattern remind me and I'll look for it again, OK?
Happy Tuesday, be thankful you are safe from fires and floods today, and remember to pray for those who are not.

Monday Day 22
Well, it's Monday... do I hear a cheer from the crowd? Woo Hoo it's Monday, a new week, a new beginning, a new day to... whatever!!! No I didn't take a happy pill or anything, I just decided it's mind over matter right? Declare it's a good day, and look for the good in it and, it WILL be a good day, right? Take every thought captive.
Yesterday, after church I think I slept most of the day. I had the race going in the background and woke up every few laps to see who was winning, but basically stayed in bed all afternoon. When I finally sat up I tried to make a dolphin animal (see above pictures)it came out OK, the yarn was a little thin though but it's cute, bigger then I wanted. I might make another one in black and white, like Shamu. My sister thinks these will make cute gifts for my little nieces (8 years old and under)and we can get baskets or some type of container to put them in, maybe a little tank for Shamu and Flipper, lol. I love making Christmas gifts but this year I am struggling. Can't decide on what I want to do, I want it to be something different.
Ok onto the contest assignment...
LET'S HAVE A LITTLE POLL TODAY... SINCE I HAVE CHRISTMAS GIFTS ON MY MIND, LET'S SEE WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND ABOUT THIS SUBJECT.
WHERE DO YOU STAND ON HOLIDAY GIFT MAKING THIS YEAR?
1- I AM ALL FINISHED, EVEN WRAPPED THEM ALL
2- I HAVE STARTED MOST AND FINISHED A FEW
3- I MADE THE LIST, AND HAVE THE YARN... DOES THAT COUNT?
4- LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE A CARD AND MONEY THIS YEAR, SIGH
POST YOUR POLL ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION TODAY AND EARN ANOTHER ENTRY IN THE OCTOBER CONTEST FOR THE MYSTERY PRIZE.
I had fun making up that poll, LOL. I have nick names for each answer too, I bet you can imagine what they are of even think of a few yourself, LOL.
Oh by the way DH made it home fine yesterday, no deer or bear. I think he might go back next weekend too. It's riffle season up North though so at least he wasn't only out there with a Bow and Arrow.
I have several phone calls to make this morning, I need to go online and process our medical insurance choices for next year, order oxygen, pay car insurance, make a deposit... the list is endless. Ahh it's Monday, woo hoo. {{{smile}}}

21 Contest days have come and gone
These three pictures are of some crocheted ornaments I worked on this weekend. I got the pattern ideas from Crochet Central patterns, I did revise them all a little, but the basic ideas came from there. I may try a few other ones too, like a dolphin and a mermaid...there were a lot on there, I haven't even looked at them all yet.
This dishcloth is from the 2008 Calendar I posted about a couple days ago... I loved the look of the pattern and had to try it out. It was pretty easy to follow even though it looks hard, if you haven't yet considered buying the calendar yourself, there are some pretty nice patterns in there. Here is the link to the calendar blog again...http://knittingcalendar.blogspot.com/
So there you go, that is how I spent my Saturday, what were you all up to?
Oh the answer to yesterdays Guess was 60, there were sixty little skeins of yarn in that box, and I think I threw away 20 before that. Not too bad of a deal huh, for $3.00 at a yard sale. And I used that yarn to make the above animal ornaments too. So you can bet I could decorate many a package top or tree with all that yarn, right?
TODAY'S CONTEST ASSIGNMENT OF COURSE, IS TAKE A REST DAY SUNDAY... REMEMBER TO TAKE SOME TIME FOR YOURSELF TODAY, REFRESH YOUR MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT. REMEMBER TO BE THANKFUL FOR ALL YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN AND TO SHARE WITH OTHERS THE JOY YOU KNOW.
POST IN THE COMMENT SECTION A SIMPLE HELLO, OR TELL US HOW YOU ARE RELAXING THIS WEEKEND, WHATEVER YOU LIKE. ANY COMMENT WILL GET YOU AN ENTRY FOR THE OCTOBER PRIZE.
That said I need to go take a shower, I am still very sleepy. I had a hard time falling asleep last night, it was 2AM and I was still awake. I think I was afraid I'd over sleep again and be late for church that I couldn't fall asleep. I guess maybe I'll nap this afternoon, as the race cars are zooming around in circles on the TV lulling me to sleep, LOL.
DH is hunting again. He is going to unfamiliar territory and actually hoping to see a bear or two. he asked for some bright ribbon yarn to mark trees so he doesn't get lost. Of course since I have organized my stash I knew right where to find some, but it looks like he forgot it, uh oh!!!
Stay tuned tomorrow to see how it all turned out... will I have a bear skinned rug on the floor, or will I be sending out a search party for the man who never asks for directions?...LOL, come on you all know what I'm talking about here, ha ha ha.
Have a wonderful day, may the Lord shine upon you and all those you love and fill you with peace and joy and refresh your spirits so you can face what lies ahead. Good or bad, happy or sad, easy or hard, the lord will be beside you all the way.
Amen.

Day 20, 11 more to go
Greetings from a very tired Gamma. Adam didn't sleep well last night, it was midnight before I finally got him to sleep, and then he was awake every two hours after that. I hope I sleep OK tonight, I sure don't want a repeat of rushing to church like I did last Sunday. His cough sounds better though, I am glad about that. We have been playing games on NOGGIN all morning, I am teaching him how to use the mouse. He can't navigate it around yet but he is really good at clicking. For Christmas I hope to get him something to help him learn to use the mouse etc. without crashing my computer. Then he can play on here while I knit, that would be awesome.
As for the status on the 2000 visit goal... I need 1085 hits still before the end of the month. We are almost 1/2 way there. Probably not going to make it this time, but you never know... I like to visit other peoples blogs, and then view their comments and then visit the blogs from the people that commented and then comment on their blog, which might lead a new person to view my blog and then create some more hits... and along the way I get to see and read some cool stuff. This is why I love blogging.
Ok Contest stuff... Yes BLOG was the answer to the Riddle, am I making the riddles too hard or too easy? I love making them, by the way.
Today's Contest is a GUESS...
As you know I have been sorting through my stash, this box was what I was able to salvage from a box my sisters fiance found at a yard sale. Alot of it was very dirty, dusty and rusty and I had to toss it, but this is what I was able to save. They are all small skeins of yarn... 1 and 3 ounces each.
SO TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT IS TO GUESS HOW MANY SKEINS I WAS ABLE TO SAVE... REMEMBER YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CORRECT, YOU JUST NEED TO GUESS. POST YOUR GUESS IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND RECEIVE ANOTHER ENTRY FOR THE MYSTERY PRIZE AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
Well I'd love to sit here at chat a little more, and tell you about what I have been working on, but Adam wants to play "Baby Ducks" again... so NOGGIN games here we come again...
Have a great day, see you tomorrow.

TGIF- October Contest Day 19
Hello...
Well it's Friday. Adam is here but he wants to go home. He doesn't feel good, along with the other problem that still exists, he has a pretty bad cough too. When he doesn't feel good he wants JanMom (his other Grandma)we will see if he ends up staying overnight tonight too. I am not sure.
Yesterday my husband went hunting, as he has been all week, and came home with two flat tires on his truck. He just went and got two new tires at $70 a piece, Geeez now what bill will I have to skip paying this month. Two flat tires, can we just say it's another reason I am not fond of this hunting passion he has. It costs way too much money.
I did post my two newest dishcloth patterns on my other blog yesterday. The grape dishcloth is a revised pattern. Below is a picture of my first try, done in a solid color... I didn't like it because I thought the bunches of grapes were too short and fat, so in the revised pattern I thinned it out and made them a little longer, and also on the variegated version I made a lace pattern for the stem and leaves instead of the purl stitches I used in the one below. Anyway I thought I'd show you the "failure" as well... Maybe if this pattern was done in red it would look more like a strawberry, lol.
So there you go... how about we get right to today's contest assignment...
A RIDDLE
I AM A PLACE
OUT IN CYBER SPACE
WHERE FRIENDS CAN MEET
WITHOUT USING THEIR FEET
I SHOW LOTS OF THINGS
MANY IDEAS MY PLACE BRINGS
SOME HAVE ONE OR MORE THEN TWO
SO I'LL ASK, HOW ABOUT YOU?
IF YOUR HEAD IS NOT IN A FOG
THEN YOU MIGHT GUESS I AM A...???
POST YOUR ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND RECEIVE ANOTHER ENTRY FOR THE OCTOBER MYSTERY BOX. NO WORRIES IF YOU CAN'T SOLVE THE RIDDLE, RIGHT OR WRONG YOUR COMMENT COUNTS AND BRINGS YOU CLOSER TO BEING THE WINNER.
Well breakfast time, I'll check in later.

Contest day # 18, so glad you're here
As promised yesterday here are a couple new pictures of Adam. He loves his mouse ears now, but when we first gave them to him he wanted nothing to do with them. Hmmm can my "bubba: have a fear of mice? Anyway he was having fun putting it on all different ways, and of course you can see his butchered hair cut too.
Wasn't that picture funny yesterday? I found a few more too... I am becoming a Google queen, LOL. But you'll have to come back another day to see them I am saving them for future posts, LOL
My mom and sister are taking Adam apple picking today before he comes here. He is going to love it, Hannah and Colin will be there and he loves playing with them.
I am posting my two newest designs today on my pattern blog, the link is at the top of this page, I'd love to hear what you think about them, especially the purple one.
Ok today's contest assignment will be an easy one...
WHERE DO YOU DO MOST OF YOUR KNITTING OR CROCHETING? IN A CHAIR, ON THE COUCH, IN THE CAR, AT WORK, FROM BED, ETC... WHY DO YOU LIKE THIS SPOT THE BEST?
POST YOUR ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND RECEIVE YET ANOTHER ENTRY FOR THE MYSTERY PRIZE AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
By the way, I hope you are all finding time to visit the blogs of everyone who comments, there are some really great bloggers out there, you'll really enjoy visiting their pages too. Make sure to leave them a comment letting them know you were there.
Have a wonderful day everyone, find at least three things today that make you smile and then share those smiles with someone else.

Day 17, Mid week Wednesday
Happy Wednesday.
I didn't sleep in today but I am moving slower then I had hoped. Ever have one of those days when you just suddenly realise you've been sitting in one place zoning out and hours have passed? Yep, that's what is happening this morning.
Adam was a good boy yesterday. I just love having him around, even though I am a little tired. He was letting me take his picture and he would pose and every time the flash went off he would laugh out loud. Unfortunately my camera has a lag and after I click and it flashes if he moves or stops smiling that's what the picture ends up being. I did get a few shots though and one even showed a smile, of course I am going to share them with you. I am a proud Gamma, you know...LOL. Except Blogger won't let me upload a picture right now, grrr. I guess I'll have to post them tomorrow.
I am not sure if everyone already knows about the 2008 Knitting Calendar but if you are interested here is the link to the blog where you can buy it. The cost is $16.00 and it's a PDF file you download, but it has some awesome patterns in there from what I can see. I just wanted to share the wealth, so to speak. Maybe one day I'll even have a pattern I designed in there, that would be so cool.
http://knittingcalendar.blogspot.com/
Now onto today's Contest assignment...
Below is a picture I found on the Internet... I thought it would be a good one to think up a funny caption for... so go for it. Post your thoughts in the comment section and receive another entry into the October contest for the mystery box of prizes. Have fun, remember smiling and laughing is good for you and everyone around you too.
I am off now to bury myself in my stash and get this stuff ready to maybe know what to do when I finally get my invite to Ravelry...
Tomorrow I will post my new design and pattern too on my pattern blog, so don't forget to come back and check that out.

Tuesday, Day 16... it's crazy here
Well let's see... I woke up at 9:30 this morning. I was so tired. I way overdid it yesterday, but got alot done. I had plans on finishing today but plans change. Since I woke up the phone has rang no less then 10 times. I haven't even had breakfast yet. I am HUNGRY. Looks like Adam is on his way over too, they have some appointments today and need me to watch him. No problem. I wish now that I had cleaned his toys yesterday. Oh well, maybe we can work on it together, yeah right.
I like how that Star Afghan come out too. I can't wait until my mom sees it as I am giving it to her to give as a baby shower gift. This is the link to the place where I got the free pattern...
http://woodhilldesignpatternpage.blogspot.com/
You need to scroll down, it was a pattern from October 2005
By the way there were 32 rounds total in the pattern. It was really easy to follow and if you know how to crochet, I highly recommend trying it.
Onto today's Contest assignment...
HOW DO YOU KEEP TRACK OF YOUR YARN STASH? DO YOU GO THROUGH IT EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE TO SEE WHAT YOU HAVE, DO YOU KEEP A LIST WITH WHAT AND HOW MANY YARNS YOU HAVE, ARE YOU ALWAYS SURPRISED AT WHAT YOU FIND YOU HAVE AROUND? ETC... TELL US ABOUT YOUR STASH
POST A COMMENT TODAY AND BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAWING FOR THE MYSTERY PRICE AT THE END OF THIS MONTH.
I ask this question as that is what I planned on doing today, going through my stash and re-organizing it a little. I try to separate the yarns by categories... solid colors, variegated, cotton, specialty yarns etc. I keep most of mine in those plastic afghan/bed in a bag see thru bags. This way I can see most of the colors at a quick glance. I also tend to ball up the skeins because I hate working with yarn and having it knot up on me. Grrrr.
But with Adam coming over I don't think I'll get to it. Sad too because I have 3 huge boxes of yarn I have yet to sort through. I can only imagine what I could be making with some of the treasures buried in there.
Well Adam will be here any minute so I am going to sign off and get the TV ready for him. Sorry I was so late blogging this morning, it's been crazy here.
Oh and I forgot who asked but the dishcloth pattern I got from my exchange partner was I believe the DW pattern... here is the link for that too, I haven't made one myself but it's on my list to do.

Monday, Monday... Day 15
Good Monday Morning...
Well I didn't sleep in today. No chance of that. My husband, who took the week off to go hunting, is still home and making quite a bit of noise. Hazards of sleeping in the living room I guess. He has this scanner, and let me tell you, it is going to drive me insane. Shelly knows, she's been on the phone with me when it's been on and the squelching and chatter can be so annoying. Anyway, my morning routine is a little off kilter, but I think he will be gone all afternoon. I like my alone time at home, especially on the days I am recovering from an Adam weekend.
Still feeling pretty good, not as great as yesterday but that's because I think TOM is coming to play today. Showed up last night unannounced and I am not thrilled either. But I guess there's not much I can do about it right?
How was your rest day yesterday? Did you get to spend time with family? Did you get to knit or crochet? I made another dishcloth pattern last night, it's supposed to be of polka dots. I'll be posting that to my pattern site later today after I type up the pattern. I may try to get a better picture too.
I finally mailed out 3 packages I have had here to mail for at least 2 months now. I also mailed out the exchange package so I can post the new pattern design I made for that this week too, I am excited to share it.
OK let's get onto the contest assignment for today...
TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURE OF THE BABY AFGHAN I FINALLY FINISHED. SEE IF YOU CAN GUESS THE NUMBER OF ROUNDS IT TOOK TO COMPLETE THE PATTERN... TOMORROW I'LL REVEAL THE CORRECT ANSWER AND A LINK TO THE PATTERN FOR ANY THAT ARE INTERESTED.
REMEMBER YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE A CORRECT GUESS, YOU JUST NEED TO POST A GUESS IN THE COMMENT SECTION TO RECEIVE AN ENTRY FOR MY MYSTERY PRIZE THIS MONTH.
Well I guess I better get to doing something around here, so my hubby doesn't think I just sit her on the computer all day, oh wait, that is what I do, LOL.

Sunday, Day 14, almost 1/2 way through
WOW, I can't believe it's 4pm EST already and I am just getting to blog for today. My day started out with me over sleeping. Yep, I woke up at 9:56am and church starts at 10am. Oops. It was a calamity of errors, but in 5 minutes I managed to get up, get dressed, brush hair and teeth, grab my purse and oxygen and get into my car. I only live 4 blocks from church so I was making good time.
I have had no breakfast, no meds, no water, no coffee, no shower... I start driving and this stye I have over my left eyelid decides to pop. Uh Oh!!! now I have this gunky stuff dripping into my left eye, my right eye is blinded by the bright sun shine coming in through my front windshield. I practically drove to church with both my eyes closed. I was a sight to be seen.
I was able to drive though, and even walk into church the long way and not be out of breath or have any major body pain. In fact I felt GREAT. I haven't felt this good in years. It's almost amazing how much a few pounds can make on your quality of life. Now I have a ton more to lose, but if I can feel this good now after just losing 20, imagine how good I'll feel when I finally hit my goal weight. WOW!!!
Anyway, Sunday is our day of rest anyway, no no real assignment except to post a comment today. I've had some nice participation so far, I hope it continues for the rest of the month, hoping to make the 2000 comment goal.
After church I came home and ate a good high fiber breakfast, and then did the dishes and then cooked for my husband who came home from hunting, and starving. Now i am blogging and then I am going to go relax a little, watch a movie and make something.
Oh I got my first dishcloth exchange in the mail this weekend. Below is the picture of the wonderful things I received. I have already burnt one of the candles and they smell wonderful. The needles are hand made by Pauline and they are so beautiful. it's hard to see but the tips are ceramic and have blue hearts on them. I'd sure love to make some needles like this. My package is going out to her tomorrow, so i can post a picture of the stuff I made, including a brand new design later next week.
Oh and I finally finished the Star baby afghan, I will post that picture tomorrow. I think I might use it as part of the contest for tomorrow.
That's it for now... have a wonderful day.

Saturday, Day 13, The Weekend is Here
I am getting a late start today
Adam woke up wanting to play on the computer. I just had my niece Hanna come over to play with him so I could get online for a minute.
I love the suggestions you mentioned yesterday, and pleased to say maybe some of those ideas have already been implemented. I can't wait to see who wins.
I am still working on the baby star afghan, I am so close to being done, maybe I can get to it today. These started and unfinished objects sure to eat away at me sometimes.
{{{Sigh}}} all my best laid plans for blog stuff this week has flown out the window. I feel like I am running a day behind. Oh well it will all smooth out in the end, right?
Let's see for today I think I'll attempt another riddle... Ready, get your thinking caps on.
I AM NOT A SPACE SHIP WAY UP IN THE SKY SO BLUE
YET MY NAME MIGHT RESEMBLE ONE OR MAYBE TWO
I BET EVERYONE WHO READS THIS RIDDLE AND IS TRUE
CAN HONESTLY SAY THEY HAVE AT LEAST ONE TO DO
I LIKE TO GO BY INITIALS IT'S EASIER TO SAY
AND GUESSING MY NAME IS OUR ASSIGNMENT TODAY
SO POST YOUR ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION TO PLAY
AND TO WINNING THE MYSTERY PRIZE YOU'LL BE ON YOUR WAY
THAT'S IT FOLKS, SOLVE MY RIDDLE, RIGHT OR WRONG A COMMENT GETS YOU AN ENTRY FOR THE MYSTERY PRIZE
I guess that's it's for today. Adam just went next door to play on Hannah's trampoline. I am going to take the quiet moment to go through my mail from the last 2 days.
See you all tomorrow. Have a wonderful day.

Day 12, TGIF and boy am I tired
Well what can I say yesterday was a day from, well you can guess.
I left at about 3pm to take Adam to his primary DR, who didn't even undress him and said I needed to take him to the emergency room, just in case. 8 hours later at 11pm he was finally on his way home to go "nite nite" as he had been asking since 5pm. The hospital took an x-ray, nothing wrong, so they gave him an enema and sent him home. No instructions as to what to do or not to do to prevent this for happening again. Very frustrated. I had not eaten all day and those waiting room chairs are not fat people friendly for sure. OUCH
I didn't get to bring my yarn so I was in withdrawal too. I am so glad the day is over. Adam ended up going home with his mom for the night but I think is coming back this afternoon and probably tomorrow as well.
I got home last night so tired and hungry, I ate a cold burrito took a Motrin and went straight to bed.
OK before I fall asleep sitting here I better do today's contest.
QUESTION DAY:
CAN YOU NAME SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IN THE "MYSTERY BOX" THIS TIME? I ALREADY HAVE SEVERAL THINGS BUT I AM THINKING OF ADDING A FEW OTHERS... I'D REALLY LOVE TO HEAR SOME OF YOUR IDEAS. NOTHING IS SILLY, TELL ME ANYTHING, OK?
POST YOUR IDEAS IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND EARN ANOTHER ENTRY.
OK I really think I need a mid-morning nap already, lol.
See you tomorrow.

Day 11, How about a poll???
Greetings from a very tired Gamma. Yes you guessed it Adam came over yesterday, a day early, but I guess we will bring him him Friday night instead of Saturday night. I am taking him to the DR's today, he still isn't going to the bathroom without great pain. I am tired of seeing him suffer. He's sitting on the desk with me right now and wants to have a turn at the computer. He must learn patience.
I hope you had fun with the picture caption assignment yesterday. I always love seeing how different and creative everyone's mind is. I think that's one of my favorite Blog assignments.
I don't have a lot of time to chat today, Church was wonderful last night, I even drove myself. That's a real plus. Not much going on today, a little crocheting and taking the baby to the Dr's. Paying a couple bills, that's about it for me. Oh yeah I have to wash dishes and figure what to cook for supper too. lol.
OK onto today's contest assignment:
LET'S HAVE A POLL...
WHEN YOU ARE NOT PLAYING WITH YARN WHAT IS YOUR NEXT FAVORITE HOBBY/PASTIME?
1- OH I HAVE SEVERAL... (tell us about them)
2- BETWEEN WORK/KIDS/SCHOOL/HOME I HAVE NO TIME FOR OTHER HOBBIES
3- NONE REALLY, BUT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN TO????
4- YOU MEAN THERE IS A HOBBY OTHER THEN YARN????
POST YOUR COMMENTS TODAY AND EARN ANOTHER ENTRY INTO THE BLOG CONTEST. REMEMBER IT'S ALL IN FUN... NO PRESSURE.
I'll see you all tomorrow.

Day 10, Do you know where your yarn stash is?
Let me tell you sometimes trying to think of a different title each day is almost harder then blogging. LOL. This title by the way has nothing to do with anything, I was just filling in the space.
As for yesterdays question, well the red neck "ahem" holder is just more bizarre then anything I ever thought of, LOL
I had a pair of glasses that I couldn't afford to replace and at one point both arms fell off the frame. So I crocheted chains and attached them to each side in a loop to wrap around my ears to hold them on my face. I used pink of course. I only needed them to drive and watch TV so who would ever see me right? Well totally forgot one year when I went to renew my drivers license, I had to read the eye chart. I took out my glasses and wrapped the pick chain loops around my ear and looked up and the lady was GONE!!!! Where did she go? Then I heard it, the laughter, the tears, she was on the floor hysterical. I still have those glasses in a drawer upstairs, in case of emergency or someone needs to laugh. LOL
What made me think of this was the chain I made for my cell phone this week. Not by far very creative but it works for now. By the way the crack was caused by my son who took my phone after he lost his. I just got it back this week.
OK enough of that... let's get onto today assignment.
BELOW YOU WILL SEE A PICTURE I FOUND ON THE INTERNET... LOOK IT OVER AND SEE IF YOU CAN COME UP WITH A FUNNY CAPTION TO GO ALONG WITH IT. I HAD A HARD TIME CHOOSING, I HAVE SOME FUNNY AND STRANGE ONES LINED UP FOR THIS MONTH. ANYWAY, POST IN THE COMMENT SECTION YOUR CAPTION IDEAS, AND LET'S ALL HAVE A SMILE.
REMEMBER THIS IS ALL IN FUN, AND JUST A COMMENT GETS YOU AN ENTRY INTO MY OCTOBER CONTEST.
Angie called a few minutes ago, she said Adam wants to come home again and she wants me to take him today and keep him until Saturday. Apparently he keeps asking to come here and it's starting to stress her out. I have a hard time saying NO. I am probably crazy, but I will try.
It's church night though, so Papa is going to have to stay home with him tonight, I can't bring Adam to prayer, church is one thing but not prayer.
I am heading to get some breakfast and finish a few things before he arrives. I'll see you all later.
Remember there are miracles all around you, notice them today. I hate to see any of them go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Day 9, Let's keep going, OK?
Hello
Turns out Adam came over yesterday for a few hours. His mom called me and I could hear him in the background crying, "bye bye's go home" so he cam over to play for a bit. I asked his Papa to take him down to the river to throw rocks but they didn't stay more then 30 minutes. It's sad Adam so loves Papa. I had my son bring him home around 9pm. I was worn out. I am feeling better but I guess I am still a little weak. Turns out in the long run it was the best thing I could have done.
I was up late last night, and very tired this morning and my stomach started leaking again last night. It's definitely blisters. I am sure I have an internal infection, it's very hot to the touch. The DR, whom I called, wants me to come in before he will script any meds, maybe he should have been more interested in my symptoms when I was there last week. I have no way to get there until Thursday so, I'll just live with it for now I guess. At least I know what it is now, so the other stress factors aren't there this time.
OK enough about my sad life story, (I promise to try to only post HAPPY stuff from now on)
Speaking of HAPPY let's move onto the contest assignment for today:
I AM SURE YOU HAVE ALL HEARD OF JEFF FOXWORTHY AND HIS FAMOUS SAYING..."YOU KNOW YOU'RE A REDNECK WHEN..." WELL I HAVE A LITTLE TAKE ON THAT FOR US...
YOU KNOW YOU'RE A REDNECK KNITTER/CROCHETER WHEN... YOU FILL IN THE BLANK, WHAT IS THE SILLIEST THING YOU HAVE EVER KNITTED OR CROCHETED TO USE FOR SOMETHING THAT IS JUST PLAIN SILLY?
IF YOU HAVE NEVER USED YARN AS SOMETHING OTHER THEN YARN, MAYBE YOU HAVE SEEN SOMEONE ELSE, TELL US ABOUT THESE CRAZY THINGS. IF YOU'VE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD, THEN ENJOY SOME OF OURS ON THE HOUSE, LOL.
YOUR COMMENTS ENTERS YOU INTO CONTEST, SO DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE ONE TODAY AND EVERYDAY FOR THAT MATTER.
Now should I post mine now or wait until tomorrow? I think I'll wait until tomorrow. I have two on my mind right now, one I made yesterday and one I used years ago and still laugh when I tell people the story. So come back tomorrow for a laugh.
I can't wait to hear your stories.

Day 8, starting the second week already
Well hello friends.
How was your day of rest? I had a good day. I decided to re-design the pattern I made last week, and I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new one. I can not wait to share it with everyone. I honestly think it's my best yet and it involved working with 2 stitches I am not really familiar with, especially without instructions.
Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. If I wasn't coming off from being sick, and still not able to eat very much, I think I might have celebrated Thanksgiving twice this year, LOL.
I was asked yesterday what I was thankful for... More then I can blog in one day. Mostly that God has His hand carrying me, even in my darkest hour (and that was last week by the way) I knew He was there with me. I am thankful for my family (most of the time lol) I am thankful for people I have yet to meet in person that care enough to pray and encourage me when times are hard. I am so blessed.
A brief history on Columbus day as well...
Today we take for granted that the world is round. In the fifteenth century, however, most people believed the world was flat. They thought that monsters or a trip over the edge of the earth waited for anybody who sailed outside the limits of known territory. People laughed at or jailed others who dared think that the world was in the shape of a globe.
Americans might not have a Columbus Day if Christopher Columbus had not been born in Italy. Out of pride for their native son, the Italian population of New York City organized the first celebration of the discovery of America on October 12, 1866. The next year, more Italian Organizations in other cities held banquets, parades and dances on that date. In 1869, when Italians of San Francisco celebrated October 12, they called it Columbus Day.
In 1905, Colorado became the first state to observe a Columbus Day. Over the next few decades other states followed. In 1937, then- President Franklin Roosevelt proclaimed every October 12 as Columbus Day. Since 1971, it has been celebrated on the second Monday in October.
OK then, have I bored you all??? I'll get to the contest stuff now... I know that's what you're waiting for, LOL
TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT- IT'S MONDAY... RIDDLE DAY... ENJOY
I AM SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NEED
SO WHEN YOU READ YOU CAN SUCCEED
I CAN BE PURCHASED FOR A PRICE
AND SOME OF THESE ARE REALLY NICE
BUT I ALSO LIKE TO SOMETIMES BE FREE
AND I'M ALWAYS THRILLED WHEN YOU LOOK FOR ME
YOU CAN SEARCH FOR ME UNTIL YOUR EYES MIGHT BLUR
ON THE WEB, A MAGAZINE OR A BOOK, I'M THERE FOR SURE
MAKE A NEW ONE YOURSELF OR USE AN OLD TRIED AND TRUE
I AM ALWAYS READY TO LEAD AND GUIDE YOU
WHAT AM I????
POST YOUR GUESS IN THE COMMENT SECTION AND EARN AN ENTRY IN THE OCTOBER CONTEST. YOUR GUESS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE CORRECT, AND SEVERAL MAY HAVE THE SAME GUESS, I WILL REVEAL THE CORRECT ANSWER TOMORROW. IT'S NOT AS HARD AS IT LOOKS AND MAYBE EVEN A HINT OR TWO WERE GIVEN IF YOU LOOK CAREFULLY. LOL
OK if I have now scrambled your brain, my apologies... I am off to see about some breakfast. My tummy is yelling at me.
Have a marvelous day, and remember to be thankful, there is always something to be thankful for. ALWAYS

Day 7, A day of REST
Yep Sunday is a day of rest. I love Sundays.
I just realised how silly my #50 looked yesterday, I tried to make it on paint, lol, guess I need to hone up on my skills a little.
I am feeling better today. Good news I am losing weight too, my scale is finally weighing me again without saying error, boy am I embarrassed to have to say that. But with not wanting to eat solid foods it sure does help the weight thing, huh?
OH I Wanted to say yesterday we hit 400 page views since the contest started, my goal is 2000 and we have 24 days left to get 1600 views, we CAN do it, right? At least we are on track for sure. It's these little things that excite me. LOL
TODAY'S CONTEST ASSIGNMENT:
TODAY I PRAY YOU FIND SOME TIME TO REST AND DO WHAT WE KNOW YOU LOVE. KNIT, CROCHET EVEN PLAY WITH THE FAMILY OR ALL OF THE ABOVE. WHATEVER YOU DECIDE TO DO, HAVE FUN. POSTING A COMMENT TO SAY HELLO, IS ALL YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DO, OR IF YOU WANT TO, YOU CAN EVEN TELL US WHAT FUN YOU ARE PLANNING THAT WOULD BE GREAT TO.
REMEMBER IT ONLY TAKES A COMMENT FOR AN ENTRY.
For me, first thing I am going to church, that's in 30 minutes and I am still not dressed, oops. Then afterwards, it's working on the star blanket while watching NASCAR at Talledega, can life be any better than that? Well maybe but it's a pretty good day just the same.
Remember even GOD rested one day a week, it's ok.
HUGS

Day 6, let the weekend begin
Hello, and welcome to the weekend and day 6 of the BLOG contest.
First things first, I think I am feeling better today. The pressure in my chest seems to have dwindled. I still have some pain in my stomach and some body aches, but I no longer feel like my days on Earth are over. Gosh who would finish the contest???
I haven't knitted or crocheted since Tuesday, but last night I started to crochet a baby blanket, that's sort of in a star/round shape. I wasn't sure I could concentrate but I managed to get 12 rows done. I will work on it some more today. Is this a project I need done for Christmas? NOPE. I need to get moving on that list soon. I need to remember how to use those darn circulars again. Grrrrr
Adam did come over last night from 5pm to 9:30pm. He wanted to come see us. He is such a good boy. I would have let him stay overnight, but not knowing how I would be in the morning, I decided not a wise move, especially since my son went out last night and my husband left early to go hunting this morning.
Mary Ann welcome back. That sure brought a smile to my face.
Ok onto my contest stuff...
Yep those finished projects were actually 50... I did not count a baggie of butterflies I made like 4 years ago, or the finished stuff that hasn't made it to the bag yet, LOL. Believe it or not I have given alot of things away already. As you can see I have a lot of spare time since I was out on disability.
Today's assignment
SINCE I AM PROCRASTINATING MY CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY GIFT LIST HOW ABOUT YOU? ARE YOU ON SCHEDULE OR BEHIND, FINISHED ALREADY OR HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED?
POST YOUR ANSWER INTO THE COMMENTS SECTION AND RECEIVE ANOTHER ENTRY FOR THE MYSTERY PRICE AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
Well I guess I am off for now. I just had a bowl of applesauce. So far so good, no indigestion yet. Woo Hoo.
See everyone tomorrow

Contest day 5, are you still with me?
Hello everyone...
After I posted yesterday I had a turn for the worse. Not sure what's up, but I was suddenly FREEZING, and then about 4 hours later I was SWEATING, I can't seem to eat either, although I am hungry now. Whatever I eat or drink I end up with really bad indigestion, so I am kind of afraid to eat. I will call the DR again today if I don't see improvement by lunchtime.
Sad part is I chose not to take Adam this weekend. It breaks my heart. He loves to come and see Papa and his Daddy, and me too I guess. He loves getting to watch his TV shows and see Hannah. Hopefully I am better by next weekend. They are going to take him apple picking though tomorrow so at least he will have something fun to do, right?
I don't want to sit here too long so let's get right to today's contest assignment.
TODAY IS MAKE A GUESS DAY... BELOW ARE TWO VIEWS OF SOME OF THE FINISHED PROJECTS I HAVE MADE AND DON'T EXACTLY KNOW WHO TO GIVE THEM TO, LOL. DO YOU EVER DO THAT? SO I STORE THEM IN THIS BAG UNTIL I FIND A NEED.
YOU NEED TO POST IN THE COMMENT SECTION HOW MANY THINGS YOU THINK I HAVE STUFFED IN THAT BAG. YOUR ANSWER DOESN'T HAVE TO BE CORRECT YOU JUST NEED TO GUESS. I WILL REVEAL THE ANSWER TOMORROW. A GUESS WILL GET YOU AN ENTRY FOR THE PRIZE SO OUT YOUR THINKING CAP ON.
Well I guess I am off for the day, but I'll be back to see all the comments. Don't forget to send your knitting friends over to play too, the more the merrier, right?

Day 4 of the October contest
(This was Jim and me at the train station when he left for Chicago)
Hello,
Yesterday was my oldest son Jim's birthday. He turned 25. He is in Chicago so I didn't get to see him, but I did send him a cool Hallmark E-card. He of course hasn't opened it yet, but I sent it.
I didn't get to call him yesterday, it was a crazy day for me. I went to the DR and of course got the usual... lose weight and we don't know what's wrong with you. See you later. Geez I just wish I could find a DR that thinks I have a chance of getting healthy again, you know? My next scheduled appt is the 31st of this month so, he will see if I have improved by then.
LOVED LOVED LOVED your photo captions. In case you were wondering about Kadezmom's (Shelly)... my sister Dayna had a bag of yarn my mom bought for me, and she lost it. About 5 weeks later she found it in the frig... hahahahahahaha... behind the crisper drawer. It was too funny.
Well we are on Day 4 only 27 days left for the contest... lol time is flying by so fast.
I thought I'd take a little mini poll today for our contest assignment. Feel free to comment on your poll choice when you post it, ok?
THURSDAY'S CONTEST POLL
HOW MANY HOURS A DAY DO YOU SPEND KNITTING OR CROCHETING?
(DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ALL AT ONCE, JUST IN THE SAME DAY)
1- ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO, THERE'S TOO MUCH OTHER CHORES TO BE DONE
2- I'D SAY BETWEEN 2 AND 3 HOURS, I PLAN FOR THIS RELAXING TIME
3- WORKING ON GIFTS ETC SO 4 HOURS OR MORE IF I CAN, I HAVE A HUGE LIST TO COMPLETE
4- LET'S JUST SAY IF I AM AWAKE I AM PROBABLY WORKING WITH YARN. LOL
ENTER YOUR POLL ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION, AND FEEL FREE TO ELABORATE IF YOU LIKE. A COMMENT WILL EARN YOU AN ENTRY FOR THE PRIZE AWARDED AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
I guess that's all I really have, oh wait, I finished my new pattern, I like it, I think it could have been tweaked a little, but I am not re-doing it. I am a perfectionist, though, so maybe I will. No I am not re-doing it... grrr... I have been arguing this for almost a day now, you know what this means? I am going to re-do it. No I am not.
I better get off of here now before I drive myself crazy. Besides I am awake and I don't have yarn in my hands, guess you know my poll answer now, LOL.

Day 3, Happy Wednesday
Good Morning friends
Well we had another great day yesterday, I think at this pace we will for sure pass my goal of 2000 hits for the month. Thank you all, it's these little things that make me happy, LOL.
I just wanted to say you are all worth it, so make sure to take a little time, a pair of spare needles, and make yourself something just for you. Even if it's just a dishcloth in your favorite color. I am telling this to myself too.
Not sure why but I am having some weird health problems, weird enough for me to call the DR and make an appointment, and if you know me that's HUGE. I hate going to the DR's. They usually say something like "Don't you think you should lose some weight?" UMM geez I NEVER thought about that DR, I should try that!!! Grrr. Anyway I am going tonight at 6pm. Hoping it's nothing to be worried about. I'll fill you in tomorrow.
Anyway since I was in bed most of the day, I was able to design a brand new pattern. I am so excited about how it came out, and I learned to do a new stitch to make it. Woo Hoo. It's for my exchange partner so I won't be posting it until after I mail her the package. So in a week or two, it will be available for anyone to see.
OK onto the contest assignment for today...
Below is a picture I found on the Internet... I thought it would be fun to make up a caption for the picture... so here you go. Post your idea in the comment section and receive another entry for the mystery prize package.
Looking forward to your comments for sure.
Happy Wednesday, thank you for visiting my blog.

Day 2, we are up and running
First things first... Yes the answer to the riddle yesterday was a
I hope you enjoyed it. I love trying to make them up.
We had quite a few comments yesterday, that was good. I had almost 100 hits to the page though, can you imagine if they all commented too. We are well on our way to that 2000 hit goal. Woo hoo.
I am still building the prize box and am enjoying that. Glad it's a long month cause I have so much I want to put in there.
I decided to do a dishcloth exchange for the first time this month, so in between blogging, housework, Adam watching, etc. I will also be filling a "puffy" for the exchange. I know I am crazy, but I felt led to do it, so I obeyed.
I did something to myself yesterday, not sure what, I am going to believe it's just a pulled muscle and nothing more serious. But OUCH.
Okay onto the contest assignment for today...
What is the last thing you made for yourself? Tell us about it, maybe a link to the pattern if you have one?
Post your comment today to be entered into the drawing for the prize at the end of the month.
The last thing I made for myself was a pair of slipper socks, and that was a year ago. I like making things for others more then me, they are more appreciative, LOL.
Okay, that's it for today... have a great one.

Let the Contest begin, Day 1-
Hello, I am sorry about yesterday. It was a weird day for me, usually a very sad day. We ended up keeping Adam until yesterday afternoon though and that helped, you just can't be sad when he is around.
So today started the month long October contest... Right now the prize is a MYSTERY... in fact I might give hints through out the contest as to the contents of the prize, so don;t miss a day if you can help it.
As before to get an entry into the contest all you need to do is visit the blog daily and post a comment in the comment section. Everyday you post a comment you receive one entry. If the comment is for an answer to a picture guess or a riddle and you guess correctly you will get a bonus entry that day as well.
My goal is to get 2000 hits to my blog over the next 31 days. We didn't make it in August but I think we can do it this month. Make sure to tell your friends to stop by, every hit counts, LOL. You don't have to have a blogger account to comment.
TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT: A STARTING RIDDLE (oh no not another riddle, lol)
WHEN THE SKY IS BLUE AND THE HORN BLOWS
WHAT'S IN THE MEADOW? EVERY ONE KNOWS
WITHOUT THEM, WELL LIFE WOULD BE SAD
AND THAT'S MY RIDDLE, IT'S PRETTY BAAAAAD
WHAT AM I?
POST YOUR GUESS IN THE COMMENT SECTION. :)
These are the Baby Jane Booties I made Saturday. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I want to make a matching hat and bib to go with them. Now if I only knew someone having a baby girl.
Here's the link to the booties...

Well I guess that's all for today... Looking forward to seeing your riddle answers. LOL.
Yay the contest has started, I missed it.
