Welcome to Tuesday, It's Tried and True

Greetings friends...

I am glad to see that you were all blessed on Mothers day and were also able to bless another as well.

Well I did get half of my chores done yesterday, hopefully I can finish the rest today. My legs were killing me last night, I might have over done it just a tad. For some reason every Monday I seem to get it in my head that I MUST get the housework done and then Tuesday and Wednesday I am practically of no use to anyone. Hmm now that I think about it I do most of my knitting on Tuesday and Wednesday, maybe I secretly plan this. Wow the things you find out about yourself while blogging. LOL

I was able to browse around on Ravelry yesterday and found a few new friends and a couple new groups that got my attention. I am almost afraid to browse around on there too much because I find so much on there I could spend days, months even years. Yikes the housework will really be out of control if I did that. Yeah I need to discipline myself.

If you are not familiar with Ravelry and you like to knit or crochet among other crafts you need to check it out. Here is the link to Ravelry there is a waiting list to get in but it really doesn't take that long.

OK Onto CONTEST stuff.

Tuesday is Try Something New Day

Here is a new stitch to learn today
( I am trying to pick some of the easier stitches so we don't stress ourselves out, lol)

I suggest knitting up a small swatch so you can see what the stitch works up like and then you always have a reference for future projects. Of course if you are like me you will probably do a whole dishcloth or something... I find it hard to do bits and pieces, I am often an all or nothing gal, lol. But I am working on this fault.

Anyway post in the comment section if you are familiar with this stitch, if you love it, hate it, can't be bothered, whatever.

If it's new to you tell us if you thought it was hard or easy and what did you make with it?

Basically just post something in the comment section. Heck you can even post about the weather.

It doesn't matter... a comment will get you another entry in this weeks contest for a pattern designed by Rachel.

Ok that said here is this weeks new stitch pattern

Dot Stitch also known as Spot stitch

Works on an even number of stitches.

Row 1 (right side): Knit.

Row 2: *Knit 1, purl 1. Repeat from * across.

Row 3: Knit.

Row 4: *Purl 1, knit 1. Repeat from * across.

Repeat four rows for pattern.

The wrong side of this stitch, where the purls are prevalent, is known as Sand Stitch.

Okay before I sign off and publish this I just have to brag about Adam's latest achievement. He learned how to type and spell several words yesterday on the old Apple Laptop I gave his mom this weekend. He can type ADAM, MOM, DAD, NANA, PAPA and JAMMA. He just had to call me and tell me over the phone yesterday. He was so excited. Yep, there is no doubt Adam is a genius and I am not biased or anything. Hahahahaha. I can't believe he will be 4 in September, it seems like just yesterday that he was born but then again it seems like he has been a part of our lives forever. Was there really any life before grandchildren??? Now there is a question to ponder.

Ok I am leaving now, got lot's to do, fish to knit, mystery KALS to figure out, yarn to think about buying... oops and laundry. Who said that?

I just tried the stitch....shame on you, because now I have to do more of it (cloth) because I really like it.....It gives me really good practice switching from Knit to Purl and also following a pattern. I know what you mean about the housework, I do it all at once and then pay for it, I need to go back to my schedule of doing certain things on certain days, then it stays clean and I am not struggling with a horrible back ache.
Have a great day...

I don't think I've tried this one. I so want to do it but if I don't get these bags finished soon...I'm gonna lose my mind. Every time I get one done...two more people ask for one. lol

Thanks for showing us some new stitches...I hope to get back and do them later.

Hugs!

Thanks for the new stitch. It sounds easy enough. I'll try it in a little bit when I finish my kitty dischcloth.

Adam is gifted for sure!!

Have a great day!

I think I must have knit this pattern sometime during the last 40years! But I don't really remember it. Because I'm a 'thrower' the k,p,k,p goes slower for me - but the rhythm of it relaxes me. And I love a pattern that I can easily memorize and don't have to count.
I'm making a swatch large enough to be a dishcloth - there is a photo of what I've done so far on my blog.

I have tried that stitch in the past. I like textured stitches like that. Thanks for reminding me of it.

I was trying new things yesterday though. I tried a new cast on for toe up socks. The pattern also has a new heel technique so Tuesday was a day for trying new things for me after all.
