Tuesday Try A New Stitch Day

Morning everyone.

It will be a quick blog post for me today as I will be working the polls for our school board election and I MUST decide what yarn and needles and projects to bring, plus plan and pack food for the day, I won't be home until 9:30pm tonight.

What's up with the Spring weather? It's 38 degrees in NY this morning, burrrrr.

Here are a couple pictures of Adam from the weekend. I love him in his Iron man glasses, what a ham, huh?

This picture is funny to me because Adam has NEVER wanted anything to do with stuffed animals. The closest he ever came to the was these past couple months when he wanted to sleep with a yarn ball. LOL But here we are at a party and one of the girls had a Care Bear left on a chair, Adam sat there and next thing I know he is holding the bear as if it were his favorite toy.
Ok onto Contest stuff

Tuesday is try a new stitch day and today's featured stitch is...

Blanket Rib Stitch

Works on multiples of 2 plus 1 stitches.

Row 1: Knit in the front and back of each stitch. You will have twice as many stitches as when you started.

Row 2: Knit two together, *purl two together, knit two together. Repeat from * across. You will be back at the number of stitches you cast on.

Repeat these two rows for pattern.

So there you go, give it a try today and let us know what you think in the comments section. If you are already familiar with this stitch tell us how you've used it in the past. Don't want to do either, OK... just post that in the comment section. Basically any comment gets you an entry in this weeks contest.

I guess that's about it for me today. I have so much to do before I leave.

Have a wonderful day everyone.
More tomorrow.

I didn't get a chance to try it today (and I don't have the energy to cast on right now), but I'll keep it in mind!

Hiya, it's Jen from GlamourandGrit,
I just wanted to thank you for visiting my blog. Your blog is so together, you could give me web design lessons. You mentioned home businesses, well, you and I are going to be learning it all at the same time, but I do a lot of reading of biz how-to books, and I want to write my new knowledge up on the blog as much as possible. It's a bit like we're all pioneers, isn't it?

OK I need help.....I am confused ...I was casting on for the stitch, and need some direction as to what is meant by multiples of 2 plus 1....Give me an example of how many stitches to cast on...first for a small swatch, then for a dishcloth..
THANKS>>>>and BIG HUGS.........

Kathy, that blanket rib sounds cool, i'll definitely give it a try... I have two baby blankets that I will be knitting up this summer... :-)

My little girl looks adorable in her ironman glasses too! ;-) oh, and as far as that video goes.. I found it on another blog, but occasionally go 'surfing' at YouTube... there are some really hilarious things over there!
