Thursday- Turn on your Thinking Cap Day

Well I just heard some sad news this morning. Steven Curtis Chapman (a Christian musician) had an accident yesterday, his son accidentally ran over their 5 year old daughter in the driveway and she did not survive. I know these things happen all the time, no one is exempt. But this really hit home to me as my nephew was killed in the same way when he was only 2. It was such a sad time and it's been 10 years now and there are still wounds that have not healed in some members of my husbands family. It saddens me so and so I will be praying that the faith this family has will carry them through and not allow the anger and resentment and sadness and guilt to break them apart. Well the phone just rang... guess who's coming over again today after school? Yep Adam. There is no school tomorrow so they figure why not have the bus drop him off today instead and I can bring him home Friday instead of Saturday. He's a good boy, but this Nana is tired. Oh well, this means I have the weekend free to KNIT something. Right?

Yesterday was Adam's mothers birthday. So when I drove him home yesterday afternoon we stopped at the local flower shop on the way and I let Adam pick out a flower for his mommy. I should have brought the camera he was so cute in the store. He loves flowers. He picked out a beautiful dark red carnation. We had made a card before we left and he brought that into the shop with us. He took the flower to the counter and handed it to the lady and showed her is card too. He was so excited. She wrapped it up and put a red ribbon around it and charged me a whopping $1.00. Can't get any better then that.

I took the band aid off yesterday, the bleeding had stopped, no red lines running up my arm I figured it was all good. This morning I started a pair of slipper socks on circulars... guess how many times I poled that stupid hole in my thumb? Too many...OUCH. So I am sporting another bright red Dora band aid once more. A knitters gotta do what a knitters gotta do, right?

OK CONTEST STUFF
Yes the answer to yesterday's riddle was FISH
(am I making these too easy, lol?) I tell you though I am running out of riddle subjects.

Today you need to put on your thinking cap... I have a picture, actually 2 different views of the same thing...

Your contest assignment is to GUESS how many balls or skeins of variegated yarns I have waiting to be used in my stash.

PICTURE 2

Post your guess in the comment section to receive another entry in this weeks contest for the burgundy Knit Pick Essentials sock yarn... actual prize yarn is pictured below. Remember your answer doesn't have to be correct you just need to try.

Well I guess that's it for me today. I have two hours before Adam arrives and I guess I watch something I have DVR'd since once he gets here NOGGIN is the only channel my TV will find.

Hoping you all have a wonderful Thursday. Life is too short for us to not find the miracles in each moment. My prayer today is that you all see the wonderful miracles in your life and smile.

52 sounds like a good number.
I was reading about that yesterday...how awful for them and I can't even imagine being the brother and how he will deal with that.
That was so sweet with the card and the flower...ahhh.

Hugs!

That is such a tragedy for everyone involved - I can't imagine anything worse.
On a lighter note - grandchildren are such a joy - but there is a reason we have our children when we are young - it's called energy!
So you have fun with them, and then AHH - that sigh of relief when they go back home to their parents LOL.
I think I counted 20 (hey - I think that's some of my stash in there!)

I'm going to say 40....I had to laugh at the comment by Jane....Here I am 40 and have a 4 and 2 yr old...But they keep me full of life and sometimes I just do not know I have the energy to think by the time bedtime rolls around...
Hope you have a wonderful night.
