Thursday- OH Darn It!!!!!

Maybe you remember these beautiful, awesome, pink beaded socks Shelly made for me for my birthday and to celebrate my new life after surgery. I wore them so much, everyday in fact.
(Side note: Don't forget to visit Shelly's site for her Spring contest... the more that enter the more prizes will be awarded. Send your friends)

Then one day I put them on and "GASP"
Oh Darn it!!!! Look at the HUGE hole!!! My heart has been broken ever since. I didn't even want to tell Shelly I ruined her hard work. It's been a couple months now since I discovered the hole but I can't throw these socks away. So I am going to have to learn to "darn" socks and repair this hole. I can do it, right? Sure, of course I can. Ok wanna take bets on if I can do it? It's a sure win for you if you guess correctly. LOL

I did a little more de-cluttering today and cleaned up some bags of yarn and papers and even Christmas gifts I hadn't put away yet. Yeah I am a proscrastionater. BUT I now have about 15 different colors of sock yarn. Yeah sock yarn. Umm maybe I should get my rear in gear and start knitting some socks, ya think?

I also sorted out my knitting needles and got all my odds and ends of cotton yarn cleaned up. So much so I decided to start a dishcloth. I hoped to finish it before I blogged but my stomach feels a little weird after dinner so I will have to finish it tomorrow. But here's a progress photo...

This pattern is called "Zinnia" by Susan Mrenna I am pretty sure it's on Ravelry as well I just haven't looked it up there yet. It's pretty easy ro knit and the pattern is quickly memorized.

I wish I had more to say tonight but I am feeling a little tired and like I mentioned my stomach is a little off, so I think I'll take a rest and watch some TV before I call it a night.

Have a great evening everyone and sweet dreams. I'll be back tomorrrow, God willing.

I've never darned before, but then again I've learned to do a lot of things that "I've never done before"--so I'm sure you can fix it!! Or you could take Shelly up on her offer and send it to her to fix!!

What a cute dishcloth!! I'm really going to have to recycle some of mine. Cara opened my drawer the other day and said, "Do you think you have enough dishcloths in here?"

Really, some are very old and worn, and they need to be recycled into the (GASP!!) "rag bag"!!

Hope your tummy's feeling better--could be that antibiotic upsetting it, you know!

You know, that dishcloth looks way more complicated than the average sock pattern! You can do it Kathy!

Those socks are just beautiful; it'd be a shame if they had to be retired. I pretty much know you could darn them. :) Love the dishcloth. Love the yarn color, too.

Uh oh, darning socks. Isn't that throwback to the olden days of yore? I can see you sitting in a covered wagon darning your pink socks,LOL.

I'm going to check out that cloth. It's very pretty and looks interesting.

When you're done decluttering your house, can you come and do mine?
