Day Sixty Seven of Super Summer 2011

Day 67 of Super Summer 2011

Well once again we are out way past our bedtime. It's almost 2am and I am just blogging again. So let's see if I can recap the day and still get to bed in time to get oh maybe 4 hours of sleep.

The day for us actually started at NOON, well for Adam at least. This is what he looked like at 11:30 this morning
Don't you just love how he sleeps with one foot in the air? I actually was worried about him still sleeping that late in the morning and snuck in to make sure he was still breathing. I know that's silly but I couldn't help myself, I worry sometimes.

He got up and decided to have lunch for breakfast since breakfast has already passed us by. I on the other hand was not feeling very good, bad stomach ache so I ended up laying in bed for the afternoon and Adam played the Wii and watched his favorite shows while I tried to feel better.

I did feel better so at about 6PM we headed out to have dinner with my sisters and my dad at the Olive Garden. The picture at the top of the blog was Adam in the car on the way and this picture is Adam at the restaurant, he was just so excited to be there
Actually he really did have a good time, he had macaroni and cheese and ate the whole bowl and I think 4 garlic bread sticks. In this picture he was slouching in the chair trying to look short and small, not sure why his face looks so glum.

After dinner we dropped Papa home because he had a very early start to the day, he had to leave for work at 3:30am, and we went to get a treat before heading back to Dayna's again.
You gotta love ice cream, homemade ice cream too, from the ice cream place. I have been trying to get there for a few days so Adam was very happy. He ate the whole thing too.

Adam and Hannah played cards and on the Wii while the adults played one round of Progressive Rummy. I almost won, but they ganged up on me and I came in second. Oh well, next time I am gonna win for sure.

So that is the re-cap of the day. Other than me being sick (still sick even now but better than earlier) we had a wonderful but very long and late day.

Tomorrow is the last day to see my dad, breakfast at the diner is on the agenda. Maybe I can get the waitress to take a photo of us all at the table tomorrow, I haven't had much of a chance to get pictures while they have been here.

But that's tomorrow, well really today. And if I don't get to bed soon I'll be MIA for the breakfast party.

Day Sixty Six of Super Summer 2011

Day Sixty Six of Super Summer 2011

I tell you this blogging at 1am is getting to be NOT much fun. I have got to get home earlier so i can post at a regular hour. It's wonderful having my dad here to visit but all I can say is our schedule for everything is messed up.

After about maybe 6 hours of sleep we all got up and got our butts to church. I always feel better after church. Adam feels better especially if Mike is at church, he just loves Mike. :-)

Then we filled the cars with gas and headed to a birthday BBQ picnic party. Problem with that was the thunderstorms had arrived by the afternoon and it was all rained out, but we went anyway and just stayed indoors.

Next we came back home so Nana could rest before we headed back out for dinner and games at Dayna's again. I made some chicken enchiladas and tossed salad and my sister Erin made macaroni and cheese. We played some progressive rummy but we didn't finish the game. I was too tired and the kids were starting to get a little cranky too. Time to call it a night was agreed on by all.

Tomorrow is the last full day of my dad's visit so hopefully we will make it a good one. If I want to be a part of that though I best get to bed like an hour ago, LOL.

Oh I almost forgot the picture of Adam today was him directing the storm when to flash lightening and to rain harder. He'd raise his hands and just say what he was expecting and then waited for it to happen. I thought is was so cute.

OK Now I am really going to bed, YAWN

Day Sixty Five of Super Summer 2011

Day Sixty Five of Super Summer 2011

Adam  got to see my dad and his wife today. It is actually the second time he met them only the first time he was only 2 months old. We picked up Adam from his dads and brought him to church and then to Daynas for dinner and just hanging out with the family.

I made Shepherds Pie for dinner and I was making Adam a plate and he asked what it was. I said it was hamburger, corn and mashed potatoes. He said I don't think I want that. I firmly said well he had to eat dinner. Then he said, wait is that shepherds pie? Yes I said, Ok I'll eat that. Kids, LOL

Adam, Hannah, Colin and Laura had a night swim tonight. For a change they actually stayed in the pool for almost an hour maybe more, usually when the sun is out and it's hot they get in for 5 min and then out again.

The adults played Mexican Train dominoes while the kids played on the Wii. Four kids with only three Wii controllers we expected a war, but they played for hours with no incident. It was a great night.

In fact it's almost 2am and we are just getting home. Needless to say I am gonna make this short and sweet, I have church in the morning and need to get at least 2 hours of sleep.

Good night.

Day Sixty Four of Super Summer 2011

Day Sixty Four of Super Summer 2011

Now if you knew Adam's momma you would know that that face, yes the one is this photo, is exactly like hers. I laugh, when I see this face on Adam because I swear I can actually HEAR his momma's voice. It's rather freaky. LOL This was taken at the park where he was playing with his dad before the thunder storms came in. The blue mouth I hope, I wasn't there to witness it, is either a popsicle or a lolipop that was blue. Please let that be what it was because the other options are not good, not good at all.

I didn't see much of Adam today so not too much to actually blog about. My dad and his wife finally arrived, much later than planned they were stuck in some bad traffic, not to mention their flight had some issues too because of the thunder storms. But they made it and we just got back to my apartment to get them settled in for the night.

Tomorrow I am sure we will do some fun stuff so hopefully some good blogging will follow. Until then...

Day Sixty Three of Super Summer 2011

Day Sixty Three of Super Summer 2011

Is that not the face of a kid that is having a blast? Adam loves playing with my photo shop and today he made several photos of himself. This was his favorite.

We had a great lazy day. Good thing because my legs were killing me from all the work I did yesterday. I didn't bring him to his dad's until after 4pm. He said he would stay the night but he wasn't gonna take his shower there. LOL. Yep this will be a problem come school time.

Adam decided to draw some "master pieces" today. There were several drawings he made and he was extremely proud of them all. He suggested we staple them to the walls of the apartment. Um we don;t staple to Nana's walls I told him, it's OK Nana they do it at my school I saw them. I suggested we tape them to the door of his bedroom, he agreed. Whew that crisis solved. This is the display of today's drawings...
Let's see from top to bottom...
1- an octopus/squid
2- a dragon
3- a door with a golden key
4- a fox on a box wearing socks playing blocks
5- several birds some flying and some standing next to a bird bath
6- a pirate ship and several pirates
7- (not seen it's on other side of door) a mermaid and more pirates

I think maybe there is an artist talent bug inside this boy. :-)

Well it's almost 11:30 and I am exhausted. Bedtime for me. My dad comes tomorrow and I need a little beauty sleep, he is staying here and I don't want to scare him away.

Nighty night

Day Sixty Two of Super Summer 2011

Day Sixty Two of Super Summer 2011

Well finally at 10pm I got Adam back home from his dads. He slept over night there last night and then spent the day with him today. They went to the park and to visit Katie Bob too. This made Adam very happy. I picked them up there after church and Adam was wearing his sad face because he wanted to stay longer. I think he is going back again tomorrow maybe, because he said SHE said it was OK. :-)

So in the car I ask Adam if he is coming home to Nana's or going to Dad's again for the night. He tells his dad he is deciding which he wants to do. He finally says I want to stay at dad's, until dad says he has to take a shower. Adam only wants to take showers at Nana's because I have the best shower. Those of you who have seen my house I am sure understand this, I do have an awesome really cool shower. I tell everyone the bathroom is my favorite room in the apartment. LOL Of course this may be a problem when school starts and he is all week long sleeping at dad's house. I guess we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

While Adam was gone today I cleaned his room. It took me four hours but it looks wonderful. All toys are in their place, bed was made and everything. Adam came home and said he has never seen such a clean room. Then he had to tuck in all his dream buddies in the bed. LOL. That's what the picture above is.

I stole a picture off his dad's facebook page this morning of Adam sleeping in on his couch... it was going to be my blog photo of the day until he saw his clean room. :-)
Well I am pretty worn out today, I really worked hard getting this house ready for when my dad arrives Friday. I also had an interview for my internship/field work for this semester. I will be working with the "Jewish Family Services" helping with supervised visits between parents and children. I am really looking forward to this.

On that note I am gonna make sure Adam is all tucked in and I am going to bed. Good Night.

Day Sixty One of Super Summer 2011

Day Sixty One of Super Summer 2011

Gotta love when the Chuck E Cheese mouse has all the kids follow him around the place and then gets them all to sit quietly while he teases them with free tickets, that he then throws into the crowd of kids who all dive to get as many as they can. Adam loves this part and was right there in front of the line to make sure he didn;t miss out.

Yes somehow Adam talked me into bringing him and Hannah to Chuck E Cheese today while Dayna had her physical therapy up the road. I as usual read a book while they played and ate pizza.

Hannah and Adam look pretty good together huh?

Adam has no trouble making friends wherever he goes, this was his latest victim, lol
I am pretty proud of myself though I have finally talked Adam into NOT spending his tickets on those silly little throw away trinkets, but to let me save the receipts until he has enough to get a BIG real prize. He already has 1200 tickets saved up. Maybe by this time next year he will have enough for something really great.

I had a visit today with the surgeon who helped remove the excess skin from my belly. I was there with a friend but since I am on my 2 year anniversary I asked for a new photo. I take annual photos with my surgeons. Luckily they both humor me. He looks great by the way, I look rather huge in the photo but really in person I look thinner. I need a real photograph take a picture that actually looks like me. Anyone know anyone? Please???
On that note I am heading to bed. Adam is sleeping overnight with his dad, so no wipe out reruns tonight, wonder if I will be able to sleep? LOL

Day Sixty of Super Summer 2011

Day Sixty of Super Summer 2011

Today Adam made us crowns out of glow sticks. Here he is modeling his. They took on many different shapes as the day progressed.

Adam and I cleaned the house today. We have plenty more to do but got more than half done today. He was waiting to go to his dad's today but it never worked out. Sometimes we just don't get what we want I guess.

But we managed to have fun anyway. We had a tickle party after dinner, he thought it was the funniest thing to blow raspberry sounds on my arm. Then we played pictionary. Have I mentioned that Adam is an awesome drawer? And I am not saying that just because I am his Nana either.

After we played the game he had the drawing bug and decided to make several masterpieces. Mostly pirate stuff.

Speaking of pirate stuff he wants a pirate birthday next month, I went looking online for supplies... yikes this stuff is not cheap. He also wants to be Jack Sparrow at Halloween. I personally don;t do Halloween but his dad does, so I am looking for a costume to help with that too. These are things his dad can;t afford so I will try to help out.

Tomorrow is another day. I am glad about that.

Day Fifty Nine of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Nine of Super Summer 2011

Iron Man has invaded Nana and Papa's house. Yep, he really has. After church today we took Adam to WalMart to get him a new pair of sneakers for school. The ones he had just had no tread left on them. He has gone up a shoe size, he is now in a size 2.We found a great pair of Starter sneakers for $11.00, this made Nana very happy.

So, Adam has been playing Angry Birds on my phone and there is an advertisement for plush angry birds on there, and Adam has decided he NEEDs all of them and he NEEDs them right now. I told him he has to wait for his birthday and Christmas and maybe he will get some. This usually causes a very sad face. I hate sad faces on Adam. Well we walked through WalMart today on the way to the shoe section and what do we see in the main aisle in a large end cap??? ANGRY BIRD plush toys in three different sizes. They had all the colors too, the black bomb bird, the angry red bird, the yellow bullet bird, the blue bird and a green pig with a gold crown. He of course stopped us right there and tried to talk us into getting one of every one. I can't explain how we managed to get out of that store without buying a single bird, but it was a miracle. And it was Papa who found the miracle.

It was in the dairy section of WalMart we were getting a few groceries for lunch and there was the Iron man mask, sitting in a cooler with the orange juice. This helmet talks and lights up and looks just like Iron Man. Regular price $25.00, marked down price $7.00. SCORE... Adam wanted that helmet more than an angry bird. :-)

We came home and had dinner and after we decided to have a movie night with popcorn and watch, yep you guessed it, IRON MAN.

Nights and Days like these are the best.

Day Fifty Eight of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Eight of Super Summer 2011

Adams version of the Upside Down Show. We were at church and Adam was on the floor underneath the chair when I snapped this picture. I liked this one too...
Cause you all know we pray in church right?

Earlier after I picked Adam up from his dad's we went to Dayna and Hannah's so Adam could try out his new snorkel. And the new bathing suit I found for him today for $6, it is a Lego Star Wars swimsuit, perfect for Adam. While at Dayna's Adam made me a cake...
We left there and Adam decided he NEEDED Burger King for lunch. he was sure they had a toy he wanted. So off we went to see the King. Turns out it was NOT the toy he wanted but he managed to make a "fun" game out of the toy he got anyway. Some type of piano thing, and it made three different sounds, so Papa and I had to make statements and if they were true we got one sound and if false another. Adam of course won the game, as he most always does.

We decided after church we would watch a movie and have popcorn. We borrowed a movie from Hannah, "Swiss Family Robinson" but she only gave us disc tow so there was no movie to watch, oops.

Adam and I did make a few pirate hats. We are practicing for his upcoming birthday next month. We are thinking a pirate theme instead of a Mario theme.
So that was basically our day today. Nothing spectacular but fun all the same. Tomorrow is church again and because of a "rainy" day we might end up back at Chuck E Cheese again. This time though I am NOT buying pizza, too much $$$.

Good night and Adam says arrrrrrrrrrrr!

Day Fifty Seven of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Seven of Super Summer 2011

Today we picked up our ceramic things. Adam finally has his Ninja Turtle figurine. I got a new app on my phone to make some creative photos, notice the black and white background and only the figurine in color? Cool huh?

After we ran our errands today we ended up at Chuck E Cheese, I have been promising a trip there since he got to NY so we finally went today. It was a beautiful day and I would have rather let him play in the park sprinkler pool but he would have nothing of that. He had fun, met some new friends there, he does make friends rather easily. I read 25 chapters of a book on my Kindle app. :-)

We ended the afternoon with a trip to the One Dollar Store where he bought a snorkel, yep a snorkel. Looks like he is wanting to go swimming in Dayna's pool.

Even spending all day with his dad Adam still wanted to spend more time with him. We called and Joe didn't answer, Adam was so sad. He left a message on his voice mail, and just pouted around. Finally at almost 8PM Joe called back, he said he was sleeping. I guess Chuck E Cheese and the almost entire large pepperoni pizza he ate knocked him out cold. Anyway Papa drove Adam over and Adam decided he wanted to sleep over there tonight. Hmm how will I get to sleep tonight without my Adam hug and evening snuggle?

Good thing I bought a new pink long fluffy pillow, I think I'll go hug on that now and pretend it's my bubba.

Good night

Day Fifty Six of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Six of Super Summer 2011

Today we went to enroll Adam into school. We still need a few official documents before he can be officially registered but at least we have it started.

Adam had a play date with his dad and some old friends from when he used to live in NY.
I know I have more to talk about but for some reason I am so tired. I fell asleep posting what I posted here and it looks like Adam fell asleep on the couch at the same time.

Guess I'll wake him up and we will both go to bed now.

Good night from the sleepyheads.

Day Fifty Five of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Five of Super Summer 2011

Papa took the photo for the blog today. While I was at church Adam and he were playing hide and seek and Adam was hiding on the side of out TV, Papa had to snap the photo because the person on the TV screen was way bigger than Adam lol. There were still hiding when I got home from church. I walked in and the TV was on but the lights were off and they were no where to be found. I started looking and then wondered if maybe they went for a walk outside and I locked the door when I got in so they might have been locked out. I was just going to go unlock the door when they jumped out from behind the couch. Not nice scaring Nana. LOL

Papa also took Adam to Gus' hotdogs for dinner tonight. They make those little hot dogs. Adam said he just wanted ONE but Papa got him 2 anyway. He ate both so good thing. :-) Papa on the other hand ate 15 of those little hot dogs, OMG Papa, that's like 7 regular sized hot dogs. I guess he was hungry.

I actually didn't spend much time with Adam today. I fed him breakfast then he went to his dad's then I went to church and he went to dinner with Papa. Now we are having a snack and watching some TV together before we go to bed.

Well I have nothing left. My eyes are closing as I type this. See ya tomorrow.

Day Fifty Four of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Four of Super Summer 2011
\
How can you NOT love that face? Adam has the face of an angel. However that mischief in his eyes, that tells another story.

We started off our day with Adam getting to see Nana's bones. Yep I saw my DR for the 6 week follow up from my double knee replacement and Adam came with and got to see my Xray's up close.

Next we stopped to the Post Office and then off to Dayna's and Hannah's. Nana was released to finally go swimming again and we were going to to take full advantage of that good news. Of course the weather didn;t corporate. It was overcast and cold and rainy. :-(

But Adam did get to play with Hannah, jump on the trampoline and even a little hide and seek.

Tonight for dinner we had hamburgers and corn on the cob. It was the best corn on the cob we have had in years. We got it fresh from the farm and all we can say is that farmer knows how to grow corn. :-)

We got a new board on Angry Birds and Adam is thrilled. It's the Carnival board, and without me even saying that word to him he knew it and read the word himself.

Tonight is Tuesday and you know what that means? It means a NEW WIPEOUT. Have I told you how much Adam enjoys this show? Probably I have but until you've seen him watch it you can't even imagine how much he really loves this show. In one of the obstacles a man jumped off a diving board and tried to get on a platform and ended up straddling it, if you know what I mean, and Adam goes oh MY I think he might have broke a bone. Hahahahahahahahahaha

Wipeout always makes Adam silly. He was getting his jammies on for the evening and he came out in 20 different varieties of clothes from him room worn on various parts of his body, laughing. I finally got a picture of the Pharaoh look.
It sure is fun around here. Never a dull moment. I bet you wish you were here too? So come on over, we'd be happy to share some of the laughter with you too.

Day Fifty Three of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Three of Super Summer 2011

Boy this summer is going by so fast. We didn't do too much today, just stayed around the house in the central air and played on the Wii. Later I brought Adam over to his dads so I could go to my support group meeting.

After the meeting I watched Adam play Mario Cart on his DS and then we played with the camera on my iPad. The above is the thermal shot he took. And here is a moasic of a few others he took of us together.

I could fill this blog post up with all the pictures he took. I think my 64gb are gonna go fast the way he uses this thing, LOL.

Naturally we are ending the night with Wipeout and a snack. Tonight's choice was Birthday Cake flavored ice cream. Just for Adam though, I am a chocolate only kind of girl, that fancy stuff doesn't interest me at all.

I am tired so hopefully we will be in bed soon. Tomorrow I hope the DR clears me to go swimming again. If he does guess where the blog photos will come from tomorrow??? :-)

Day Fifty Two of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty Two of Super Summer 2011

Ahh silly string is always fun isn't it? Adam got attacked at Hannah's party today and loved every minute of it.
It was a nice day out and Adam got to swim. play on the trampoline and toss water balloons.
Me, Nana, I got to hold the baby
After the party we hit the grocery store, we needed some supplies for the upcoming week, you know important stuff like pizza rolls, potato chips, little debbie snacks, waffles and watermelon. I did get a few healthy things too, like some milk, and cheese and meat. LOL

Looks like rain and thunder storms for the next few days so not sure what we will be doing. I am sure we can find something fun.

With that I'll end this blog post with a Happy Birthday to Hannah Rose who turned 10 this weekend.

Day Fifty One of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty One of Super Summer 2011

Well today was a good day. We started off slow and really didn't have any real plans. We thought maybe grocery shopping, but turned out we got invited to go to the movies and see "The Smurfs" Smurfabunga is Adam's new word today. Oh boy, Nana is so happy, la la lala la la la lala la la

After the movie we stopped at Hannah's so I could help her with her new iPod, she got one for her birthday today. Double digit birthday=iPod... did you know that?

Then we headed to church to hear my niece Autumn sing, she was the lead and only woman singer on the worship team tonight and that was a treat. I still want her to try out for American Idol but she is afraid of getting rejected. (sigh) I'm still working on her though.

After church we went to Pizza Hut for dinner. It was Adam, his dad, Papa and Nana. They all ate well me not so much. Pizza is just not my thing anymore. But I still had a good time.

We are home now, Adam has showered and is ready for bed and playing the Wii hopefully to tire himself out. That is still to be determined.

Oh and Adam helped draw a picture that he wanted me to post on the blog today, so I will end the blog with that. Sunday is another day, I hope you found something today that made you smile, and if not just go back to the top of this post and look at Adam's self made cartoon picture again. Good night

Day Fifty of Super Summer 2011

Day Fifty of Super Summer 2011

Today Adam got to go to the Pottery Barn with Nana and Janet. There were rows and rows of choices of things we could paint. Adam looked them all over and almost immediately decided on the Ninja Turtle figure. Naturally a detailed painting job is exactly what he should have started with on his first project LOL. He did pretty good and Janet the expert was right there to led a hand. We had to choose our colors and brushes and then paint the piece three times. As you can see in the photo above Adam was concentrating on getting the colors just right. He kept thinking this was Raphael but then he couldn't remember if Raphael had red on him or not. We just don't know. But I can tell you that Ninja Turtles have YELLOW eyes. Wait till ou see the finished product, that will be next Friday. :-)

For now here is the preview of our pieces
We left the Pottery Barn and went to the ice cream place next door. Adam chose DARK CHOCOLATE ice cream, he is a kid just like his Nana, that would have been my choice too if I was eating ice cream.
That is a DARK chocolate don;t you think? It almost looked black. YUMMY I did have a taste or two. Adam ate most of it, and wore some home too.
Once we got home we hit the Wii with full force, this time we decided to play some Wii sports for some actual exercise. We boxed and golfed, played baseball and bowled. Adam is pretty good at bowling as you can see by these next two photos
I can tell you Adam has worked up a sweat. Poor kid, maybe I should turn the air conditioner back on.
I am going boxing for real tonight, so I am trying not to exercise as much as him so I am fairly comfortable with just the fan. Then again PT will be here soon so I may want the air on while she tortures me.

So I blogged early today since I had so many pictures already. Tomorrow is the weekend, I wonder what we will be up to tomorrow. If you are curious come back tomorrow sometime and see.

See ya when we see ya

Day Forty Nine of Super Summer 2011

Day Forty Nine of Super Summer 2011

Check out these eyes, are they spooky eyes or what? It looks like the Wii has taken away their real eyes and but in these white ones. Ahhhh they are Wipe Out Wii zombies.

Well Adam finally got to go to Hannah's and get in the pool for a little bit. He also got to play on the trampoline so he got his exercise in for the day.

I picked him up around 5:30 and Hannah decided to come back to our house to play some more with Adam, They had a little picnic dinner in his room while watching WipeOut on his TV. Then they came out in the living room and got the Lego's to try to build a castle for Adam's toy knights. Not sure how that actually worked out, but I do know my bare foot found a nice sharp collection of something Lego to step on. Can we say OUCH!!!

It was then time to make Papa go to bed so they could actually play WipeOut on the Wii. Hannah won 50,000 and the way the two of them screamed you'd think she actually had the cash in her hand.

More birthday cake ice cream for dessert after Hannah went home and now we are ready to call it a night. Nana's stomach is doing flip flops like it got left on the trampoline. I need to go to bed.

Tomorrow of all goes well we should have an outing with Janet. That will be fun for both of us.

Good night all.

Day Forty Eight of Super Summer 2011

Day Forty Eight of Super Summer 2011

Ahhh today well rather tonight we had some DRAMA. I am sad to say there were tears involved. Tears from Adam just break a Nana's heart. But that's later in the day... I'll get to the drama in a moment.

As you can see from the above picture Adam was happy to model the lovely make up job he received from his super dooper green and blue and red popsicle. Doesn't get any better than that on a hot summer day, does it?

Today we had planned on going to Aunt Dayna's to swim with Hannah and Claire but turns out Claire isn't coming until Thursday and Dayna had something to do in the afternoon, and it was supposed to be thunderstorming sometime today. So we decided to hang out around our house today. We watched some TV, played some Mario, he waited patiently, OK not so patiently, while I had my physical therapy, and had a visit with Aunt Dorothy too.

I think Adam had a hungry day today... let's go over his menu shall we...

Breakfast- TWO Cinnamon waffles with butter and a bowl of watermelon and a cup of chocolate milk
Snack- a snack bag of Dorrito chips
Lunch- TWO grilled cheese sandwiches, and apple, and a cup of apple juice
Snack- a mini snickers bar, 5 starburst chews, 2 more snack bags of chips, a popsicle
Dinner- 6 mini corn dog bites, a banana and a cup of sprite
Snack- a bowl a birthday ice cream, another snack bag of chips and a bowl of applesauce

I am sad to say he is still awake right now and there might still be something still to be eaten. I can not believe how much food this small child can fit in his belly on any given day.

Now you are probably with a wonderful day like this how could there be any drama. Well it all started with the corn dog bites for dinner. Adam was sitting at Papa's desk, playing Monkey Ques, eating his dinner when suddenly I hear a loud "OUCH" What happened Adam? I asked... his loose tooth moved a lot and almost fell out and unfortunately for Adam this caused some pain. Enough pain that the tears were freely falling.

I looked at the tooth and it somehow twisted over to where his other tooth belonged but was still attached at the top of the gum area.
But this tooth was NOT willing to come out. We tried wiggling it, biting on a washcloth, numbing it with a ice cube and even a spoon of ice cream. Nothing, nothing but tears from a very sad Adam. We prayed out loud to God and asked Him to take the tooth out of his mouth right NOW. Then we wiggled some more and it felt loose but wouldn't come out. At some point when I was wiggling I managed to get it to fall back into it's own slot in the mouth and the pain stopped. This made me happy. I was able to leave then and go to church like I had planned. There was no leaving when the bubba was crying and needed Nana to hug him.

I got home from church 90 minutes later and Adam was still not crying, and the tooth was still in his mouth. But he had wiggled it back to the other tooth's side again. I told him that I thought this tooth was going to wait until tomorrow to come out.

Of course Adam is telling Nana that he is hungry but what can he eat? That's when I gave him the bowl of applesauce. Well while eating that he started to cough, and wala the tooth fell right out. YAY, Thank You LORD.
Last year Adam lost a tooth while staying with us for the summer. That tooth fell out when no one was looking, we never found that tooth. But we have this one... Looks like the tooth fairy will be stopping by tonight. I told Adam he had better sleep in his room tonight and not on the couch in the living room or she may not find him :-)

So all in all even with the drama we had a great day. Adam wants to say good night by showing you the new smile.

Day Forty Seven of Super Summer 2011

Day Forty Seven of Super Summer 2011

Well I ventured out today and drove Adam to his dad's this afternoon. The park had the sprinklers turned on and Adam was super dooper excited about that.
Adam asked if he could play the new game on the computer he heard about when watching the movie Rango- Monkey Quest dot com, so we signed in and he was so excited. But apparently you have to kill bad guys on there and he is a little nervous about that so he only collects bananas and then gets out of the game. He is going to have his dad help him play it. He does love creating his own monkey character though, and he chose the name Luke RustyGizzmo I think. Something like that anyway. If he was here right now I'd ask him.

I've been posting about the Super Summer 0f 2011 and it looks like maybe the summer is going to continue on longer than expected. I think Adam might just stay in New York and live here with his dad for at least a year. So I am not sure how I will end the super summer blog posts... Perhaps I'll have to set up something else to celebrate the year Adam lives with dad.

Crazy times for sure, but this Nana loves Adam so much that knowing he is going to be here close means the world to me.

Adam doesn't know this yet, so don't go telling him. :-)

Day Forty Six of Super Summer 2011

Day Forty Six of Super Summer 2011

I am beginning to love these summer Monday's. It seems we are on the go go go all weekend so Monday is a lazy day relaxing around the house. For some reason I was very tired today, must be from not feeling well last week, Adam was a good boy though, he let me lay on the couch off and on all day today.

Of course I was up often because he is hungry all the time. His front tooth is loose and is bothering him when he eats so he asks for soft food, but then only wants to eat Doritos chips, hmm that's a soft food?

So today we had an arts and craft afternoon. That star Adam is holding is his very own Super Mario Star. He says he is amazed that Nana can cut and draw so well. Next he wants me to make him a costume for Halloween. (sigh) How do you say NO to this kid? I just can't.

Adam brought dinner over to his dad's tonight, Spaghetti and homemade meatballs and garlic bread. I figured it's easier sending the fresh food over when I cook it instead of having left overs around here that no one ever seems to want to eat. And by no one I mean Papa.

Not sure what we will do tomorrow, maybe we will try to get to Dayna's for the pool? Guess if you wanna know you'll have to come back tomorrow and see, :-)
