Well Praise God, He ROCKS!

I am so excited. We just sold a pattern on our Etsy shop, it was the Shamrock with the bobbles. Of course I have the pattern instructions here so I went to attach them to am email and send it off to the buyer and what do I discover??? I never actually typed up the pattern, Uh OH. So frantically, now mind you it's almost midnight, I go searching the shelf behind my bed for my pattern journal. I find it and come back to the desk open the book and all i see is scribble, Uh Oh. Found Adams journal not mine. Then I remember I had the graph of the pattern in my pattern notebook, so I go there thinking I am going to have to re-write it from the graph and well let's just say my bed looks pretty crisp and white right now, too bad it's papers scattered all over it and not linen sheets. I found the graph and then decided to look one more time for the journal, I found it. Thank God. So I started typing, still really excited and wanting to call Shelly in the worst way but like I said it's after midnight now. So I start typing, as careful as I can, you know how many typos I make just blogging. And then the phone rings, it's Shelly, she just discovered the sale too, LOL. I guess she couldn't wait. Actually, if I am asleep with the CPAP on I won;t hear the phone ring so I told her call anytime, if I'm awake I'll answer, if I'm asleep leave a message. So it all worked out, got the pattern delivered and all is good. Actually God is good. He ROCKS!!!

I didn't make too many squares today. I got a vision of a square to make for VJG and have been working on the prototypes. They are rough and not really right yet, but if you're curious here are the rough drafts.

It's supposed to be a race car (the green part) I can see the wheels need to be bigger and spaced better but this was done without any written instructions, just a vision in my head

Then I tried to crochet a square shape around it, harder then I thought. But I will keep trying. I actually tore this one apart and started over again.

Now this time I think I got the wheels right and it came out as 1/2 of a square, 4X8. This picture stinks though, in person it looks better. Here it looks like a backwards cracked egg or something or a turtle.

I'll be trying again tomorrow. Every failure just brings us closer to success right?

By they way I had a few ask, I will take any squares, any size for the VJG, I can make any square work and would love to have them. Knitted or crocheted, no matter, I can work with them all. As long as they are colorful we are good to go.

I think Adam will be coming tomorrow after school, I haven't seen him all week, so I am ready for him.

It's mighty cold here in NY, below zero, I'm glad we still have wood for the metal monster or I'd be a Popsicle.

It's now almost 1AM and I'd best be getting to bed, after I clean off the white sheets, sheets of paper that is. Good night everyone.

Just call me Mrs. Potato Head

Well all day I have had a terrible headache, right in my left side of my forehead. Shelly reminded me that I told her about a home remedy and why wasn't I trying it out. So my son Jim went and cut a potato in half for me and I held the potato to my forehead, to suck out the headache. Guess what??? It worked. No kidding. Of course when my husband walked in from work and saw a potato to my head he thought I had lost my mind, LOL.

I was telling the ladies at church about it tonight and we all got a good laugh out of it and they suggested I knit up a potato holder to hold the potatoes to my temples and sell it. Yeah that really gives a whole new meaning to the word Potato Head, huh? They were saying I could decorate it with googly eyes and stuff, now that really gives me a headache.

I worked on a few more charity squares today. I bought some pale pink, purple and white to make a rug for a friend but she never got me the measurements so I started using those skeins for the squares. I can always get more. I am calling this group "Shades of Pink"

Close Knit Hugs usually uses 35 squares for an afghan, I might just make another 20 and sew them together for her as well.

Speaking of charity squares, if anyone wants to donate squares for VJG you can certainly send them here to me. I am hoping to send out a package by June 1st. I will sew all the squares together into as many blankets as I can by that date.

I noticed in my email today that I have about 20 requests for patterns to design waiting for me there. I really need to get back to that before people give up on me.

It's still snowing here, it snowed all day and tonight it's going down to like 2 degrees. burrrrrrrrr.

My finger is still sore and red from the knife cut, but I did get the splinter out tonight, so that's a good thing.

I am off to bed shortly, I might try to watch American Idol from tonight if I can stay awake that long.

See you all tomorrow

Snow continues, unbelievable

Yep today was a pretty good activity day for me. I climbed the stairs so I could watch Biggest Loser this week, too many things on TV at the same time on Tuesdays so if I want to DVR them and watch them all I have to sacrifice. I figure it's good to get in activity to watch a show like The Biggest Loser, LOL. It looks like the blond trainer Kim Lyons is going to be at our Golds Gym this weekend for it's grand opening. Ya think if I went there she'd see my situation and agree to be a trainer for me and help me get this weight off? Yeah that's what I thought too. Oh well.

Still working on the charity squares, I have about 8 done so far. These one will be for Close Knit Hugs, and as soon as I can dig out my acrylics I will get started on the Victory Junction gang squares. A group of us Weight Watcher girls have agreed to donate afghans for the camp based on our weight losses and goals met during the off season of NASCAR until the Daytona race. We will be donating a minimum of 3 completed afghans as well as other items the VJG web site says they need to keep the camp running.

More snow in New York. Looks like the winter that just won't end.
Here are a couple pictures I took from the front door, I was trying to capture the snowflakes that were so HUGE they were almost the size of ping pong balls.

I tried to sleep with the full face mask last night but it doesn't fit my face right and I struggled all night still to sleep. Needless to say I am still tired. I think I am going to have to go to the sleep center and have them check it out and maybe re-fit me with a different size. maybe it's the weight I have lost, I don't know. But I do know I am not going to gain it all back just so I can fit better in my CPAP masks, LOL.

I cut my finger washing dishes tonight, it hurts and then I got a splinter in the palm of my hand and I can't get it out, I am such a klutz. But God is good, He healed me enough so I can still knit and crochet, God sure does love me.

Off to bed, I'll be back tomorrow.

Don't Forget To Floss Now

Well I went to the dentist today for my 6 month teeth cleaning. No cavities but I need to floss more. I have such a hard time getting my fat fingers into my mouth, LOL. I promise to try harder though. But one thing I need to lighten up on though is my brushing, he said I brush too hard he can see bristle marks ground in my teeth, hmm how did that happen?

Well it looks like Angie (Adam's mom) had a miscarriage. I know she is sad but hopefully it will turn out for the best. She told me today she is planning on getting married in the summer. My son Joe was not really happy about that. I think somewhere in his mind he expects they will get back together again. I am pretty sure that won't ever happen.

I was thinking today it's almost the end of February, you know what that means, right? The March contest will be starting in a couple days. Are you all ready for another fun filled month of me blabbering and asking silly riddles just to get a prize in the end? I haven't even begun to get ready yet, so much to do and so little time. I think maybe I will have to hire employees, LOL.

I have still been making squares, they are a fast project with some immediate results and that's what I need right now. I didn't get any new pictures taken yet but I will have some tomorrow I hope.

I was pretty tired today from staying up until 2AM waiting for that silly race to never start and then I was woken up at 8am by the phone ringing. I think i will hit the hay early tonight and try to catch up a little. I sleep with a CPAP mask and tonight I am trying a full face mask (covers nose and mouth) because my nose is so plugged up that i can;t breathe anymore and it's affecting my sleep. Hopefully this will help, last time I tried it I couldn't get it to fit around my face right, but I have to try something. I am way too tired, way too often.

I didn't even read all your blogs today, I will just have to catch up tomorrow.

HUGS and PRAYERS to you all

The Race That Never Ends...

Well this was the longest NASCAR race that never really raced that I can ever remember. It's almost midnight and they are still considering finishing the race tonight. I can only imagine how tired everyone at the track is, drivers, crews, officials, and fans.

Adam went home this morning. He always wakes up in such a happy mood. Here are the pictures I took of him yesterday, in the mail we got a advertisement from the PO and this was part of the mailing... I call this one Face ON

and this one Face OFF

My husband spent the day on the frozen Resorvoir ice fishing today. he came home freezing and hungry and for all those hours this is what he brought home.

Hmmm let's see, it probably cost $10.00 in gas to drive there, $8.00 in bait, $300.00 in fishing supplies, and enough fish to make a fish fry maybe... yeah I'm thinking it was worth it. LOL

I have put aside my sock. Maybe I will like it more in the Spring. I am going to work on some squares for charity afghans for awhile. I have been procrastinating in this area. I made two of these in just under an hour. I like how they came out.

Church was good today, I really enjoyed the message and the worship. I wish I could have church everyday sometimes.

Well I want to blog this and then go see if the race si going to finish or not. See you all tomorrow.

Smiley Saturday

You knwo when Adam is here I am guaranteed to smile a lot. At this precious age of three he is a sponge of learning. He catches on to new things so quick and has a laughter that just lights up the room. He is sleeping over tonight and I need to take him home tomorrow morning at 7am so I am headed off to bed now.

I just shut off the lights and the oxygen and then remembered I hadn't blogged yet. oops.

So just a quick hello and sweet dreams to all from me tonight. I really need to get to sleep.

I got a cute picture of Adam today and I'll post it tomorrow.

Good night everyone.

FRIDAY... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO...

YEP TODAY IS THE BIRTHDAY OF TWO PEOPLE WHO ARE VERY IMPORTANT IN MY LIFE...

FIRST MY FATHER TURNED 66 TODAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY, JUST IN CASE YOU AHPPEN TO READ MY BLOG TODAY. I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND I ONLY SEE YOU MAYBE ONCE A YEAR, NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT YOU DON'T ENTER MY THOUGHTS AND I THANK GOD DAILY FOR ALL YOU HAVE TAUGHT ME IN MY LIFE. YOU GAVE ME THE LOVE FOR MOVIES AND READING AND LAUGHTER. I HOPE YOU KNOW I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PROUD TO BE YOUR DAUGHTER.

SECOND MY BFF SHELLY IS, NOPE WON'T TELL HER AGE EXCEPT TO SAY SHE IS NOT 66 AND SHE IS YOUNGER THEN ME. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLY. I AM SURE YOU KNOW THAT WITHOUT YOUR FRIENDSHIP I'D PROBABLY BE IN THE NUT HOUSE OR THE GRAVE BY NOW. YOU HELD ONTO ME WHEN LIFE WAS PULLING ME DOWN AND EMBRACED ME AS A FRIEND AS IS. YOU ARE JUST ANOTHER MIRACLE THAT CAME FROM THE BIRTH OF ADAM (THAT'S THE REAL REASON WE BECAME FRIENDS)AND EVERY DAY I PRAY THAT GOD WILL BLESS YOU 100 FOLD FOR ALL THE THINGS AND WAY YOU HAVE BLESSED ME. YOU ARE MORE THEN A FRIEND, YOU ARE FAMILY.

Well that's really all I have for today. Adam comes tomorrow. There is drama in their house and I will know more tomorrow I guess.

Have a wonderful night everyone.

Thursday, Reality TV and all of that

Well I know in NY it's after midnight but according to Blogger it's still Thursday so I am going to post this as if it was still Thursday. Now normally I wouldn't even go into explaining all of that since you'd never know, except I just took a picture of my current sock project and someone (not naming any names, AK) must have turned on the date stamp when they inserted new batteries yesterday and the picture in big yellow numbers proudly displays February 22, 2008. Oops as Shelly would say... MY BAD.

So here you go, a picture of the sock so far with the yarn I am not loving at all. I mean the yarn itself is soft and that part is fine but I just don't like the pattern set up. I am committed though, or should I say I should BE committed. Anyway I will finish the sock and make it's match... from then well who knows. Charity??? Kindling for the wood stove???

Got caught up today on American Idol, Big Brother and Survivor oh and Don't Forget The Lyrics, I don't mean don't forget the lyrics, I mean Don't Forget The Lyrics. LOL
It was nice, hubby was working at the arena again tonight, another concert, this time it was Matchbox 20, no clue who they are or what they sing, but I do remember seeing them mentioned or a song playing of theirs during the pre-race stuff for NASCAR last Sunday.

Other then that not much else is new around here. We are in for a snow storm tomorrow, it's an all-dayer too, my son will be driving my car to work, hopefully we don't have a repeat of last weeks snow storm. That would be BAD, very BAD.

I'll check in again tomorrow, hopefully a little earlier then today... don;t want to risk messing up my blog 365 or the everyday blogging for the month... What's that called Mel?? NAPABLO??? I have no clue, look for the little Pillsbury Doughboy in my side bar, he knows what I am talking about.

I usually leave you with a scripture but today I saw a quote and I have decided it was a quote that was meant just for me, so I am going to share it with you all today.

Wednesday, Water and Wet pants

Well it's Wednesday. I survived Adam... he played hard today. At one point we were tickling and laughing for a long time, maybe 30 minutes or more and I said... STOP... time for a water break. So we both stopped, grabbed our mugs of water and took some long drinks to refresh ourselves. We went right back to tickling afterwards though. I so love to hear Adam laugh.

Not a good day potty training though... we had a few wet pant mishaps, and I even think once he pee'd on my rug in the front hallway. It was in the shape of a circle, I think he did that on purpose. That's a first... not sure what possessed him to do that. I should have taken a picture of it. Oh well.

Went to church tonight and the assistant pastors wife handed me a bag when I got there. Inside was a bag of salad greens, some cabbage, some fresh asparagus and a bag of baby carrots. It was like a million bucks to me. I love vegetables and I have not had any in the house in a few days. God is so good to me.

I am still working on the sock, only have about 5 or 6" done so far but maybe tomorrow I will get to start the heel or something.

We got the check today to fix my sons car from the insurance company so hopefully by next week we will have that car back.

My husband has to work again tomorrow night for the Matchbox 20 concert. He needs to bring a flashlight with him, and the only one I have is a Diego flashlight I bought for Adam that cranks up. Maybe I better send out one of the boys tomorrow to get him a grown up one, ya think?

Well I guess I'll sign off here, sorry still no pictures. I gave the camera the week off, LOL.

I'll check back tomorrow.

Sanity, Security and Sheep

Well I decided I was going to say NO when they called today to ask me to take Adam. I knew they would call, did I say NO? NOPE. Here it is just midnight and I just got him to sleep finally. Long night for me again.

He will stay tomorrow all day and go home just before I leave for church. Then I'll get Thursday off and he will be back on Friday.

I am still feeling in a FUNK, not sure what's up with me. If I had my way I'd stay in bed all day long. I did get up and do the dishes today and cooked dinner so that's a plus. It's more then I planned on doing.

Gary worked his first night as Security tonight, it was for the Carrie Underwood concert. He said he had the best view where they had him and said it was a good concert, even though country really isn't his kind of music.

The Cocoa swap is having a Blah Buster Buddy contest and we all need to submit two pictures by the end of the month. I have a whole slide show I made of mine but can't decide on the two pictures to send in... any suggestions? Here is the slide show.

I started a new pair of socks with the new sock yarn. I am a little disappointed in how the pattern is developing, or really the lack of pattern developing. But I am going to continue and see if it gets better with time.

I tell you I feel like I am going CRAZY. I think I need a vacation. Where can I go? I think if it weren't for knitting and reading all your blogs I would definitely be insane.

Well it's late and I best get to bed you know Adam will be up early.

Monday, I must of Missed it

Ok I must be coming down with something, I don't know how but this day is over and I can't remember doing a thing today.

I haven't knitted, watched TV, I didn't even cook dinner. I managed to fold laundry I remember doing that.

Oh I did talk to the adjuster today and Jim's car is not a total loss, they will be fixing it after all. That's good news.

I guess I better just call it a night and go to bed.

Maybe I need someone to come hang out with me tomorrow so I can feel like I am among the living again.

Sorry guys but I just don;t have anything left today. i will try to catch up on all your blogs tomorrow, God willing.

DAYTONA is finally here.

Well this blog will be short and sweet today. I am feeling very tired and think I might better just go straight to bed early tonight. I was going to blog hop and see what you have all been up to but I really am tired.

Even too tired to knit. Now that's pretty tired.

I managed to catch the race, I did start to dose but woke up after only a few minutes. It wasn't as exciting as in years past, but it was still the start of the season and that means until November I will have something to follow. It's the only sport I really watch on TV. Except for Bull Riding when I remember it's on.

Church was good, sidewalks were really icy so I had to walk in and out the long way, at least I got a little exercise in that way, right?

So my friends, that's it form me today, it's all I got. Hope you all had a wonderful day, are ready to face the new week and all the miracles it has in store for you.

See you tomorrow.

Socks, Slides, Cake and Dominoes

I FINISHED MY SOCKS. I even wore them tonight. They are a little big but comfy. I posted them on Ravelry but here they are in case you aren't a Ravelry member yet.

Adam was playing with my yarn again today, he was all tangled up in it, like they did on one of the cartoon shows he watches on NOGGIN, Oswald is the show, anyway I got a couple hundred pictures of him playing with the yarn... here are a couple.

Then we took Adam to McDonald's, or Old McDonald's as he calls it, we were there almost 2 hours and probably would have stayed longer but he had a dirty diaper and well I am sure he was going to be offensive to the other kids in the slide area.
After that we stopped at the grocery store to get stuff to make a birthday dinner for my husband. He turned 48 today. More on this later.

When I got home from the store there were three boxes waiting for me. I so love getting boxes to open. My husband was very excited since it's his birthday and he thought I bought him a bunch of Dale JR stuff for a present. Imagine his shock when all three boxes were for me. Oops... My Bad. ooohh I hate that expression, why did I say that??? Anyway, onto the boxes, one was a set of videos for exercising from a friend I had forgotten she was sending them to me. The second was some books I got with some patterns in them. And the third box was my SOCK yarn already. it only took like 2 days, WOW!!! Here's a picture of my newest stuff.

So around 6pm we headed off to my sisters for dinner. We ended up making a Pork Roast, broccoli, Mashed Potatoes and Biscuits. It was delicious. My sister cooked it and we ate over at her house. She lives right next door to me but the sidewalk was very icy and I was really nervous walking over there. I held onto my husbands shirt for dear life and he was taking too big of steps and it was almost scaring me even more. I was practically, ok really, in tears as I walked in her front door. Coming home was just as bad. I am just thankful I made it without falling. that would have been BAD. We played Mexican Dominoes after dinner and now I am home again and blogging before I crash in bed. I am tired and cold to the bone. Burrrrr.

I wore my new socks to dinner and being this cold I may even wear them to bed tonight.

Can't wait to start a new pair... maybe even design my own someday too.

Have a great night everyone, I'll check back tomorrow. After DAYTONA of course.

Freaky Friday and all that kind of stuff

Well woke up this morning to my son hobbling around asking for pain meds. He could barely walk on his foot. Looks like he was injured a little in the accident afterall. We got him to the emergency room to find out he has a sprained foot and possibly tendonitis. They also said he has high blood pressure and needs to see his regular DR about that. He is only 25. This is not good news.

The other bad part about that story is Jim was going to go grocery shopping for me today, that didn't happen. We ended up eating Pizza for dinner. That made Adam happy.

Yes Adam is here again. He didn't come after school, my sister picked him up around 6pm for me. He just fell asleep at 10:45pm that's usually why I don't like getting him after 2pm because they let him sleep way too long and then I can't get him to bed.

I am on the foot section of the second sock now, but I had to put it away to turn off the light and try to get Adam to sleep. I will definately finish it tomorrow for sure. I don't think I will have enough of the sock yarn left to make another pair so I am thinking of making a pair of fingerless gloves to match them. I was thinking of this pattern GLOVES

Tomorrow should be fun, we are taking Adam back to the McDonald playland to play on the slide before we take him home.

It's my Husband birthday as well Saturday and I think we will be going out to dinner, we have gift certificates so it will almost cost us nothing.

His brother called him today to tell him happy birthday and invite him to go ice fishing on Sunday morning his treat. This made my husband very happy as his brothers and sisters usually don't rmemeber him on his birthday.

Oh I watched the movie CARS today. I hadn't seen it yet, loved it. It was so cute. I wish I could get Adam to watch it.

I guess that's it for today. Pretty boring I know. I don't even have pictures to upload today. Sorry about that everyone.

I was telling Shelly today I need to hone up my writing skills there are some talented bloggers out there and I am way out of my league. Yikes.

Ah, let's see what tomorrow brings, right. Everyday is a new day and a new beginning.

My Two Favorite Valentines

Happy Valentines Day everyone...

I finished my sock and have started sock number 2. I asked my husband to pick me up some smaller DPN's today so I can start my next pair with a much smaller needle. These socks are nice but I think too thick to wear with a regular shoe.

I was over on Maria's blog today and she had this show of her and her husband dancing a Valentine's Day dance, I loved it so much I went and made up one of my own.

I titled it "My Two Favorite Valentines" you have to hit the Play button for it to start. if you have sound there is music playing but you can enjoy the full effect even without the music.

It made me smile and I hope it does the same for all of you too.
Looking forward to hearing what you all think about it. Hahahahaha

I will post pictures of the pair of socks sometime tomorrow, as soon as I finishe number two.

Until then wishing you all a Happy Valentines Day and may the God of Heaven and Earth fill your hearts today and always with His everlasting Joy and Hope.

Wednesday Wrecking Weather

Well the weather in NY stinks today. Lot's of snow and freezing rain. My son smashed up his car on the way to work this morning. He wasn't hurt and he didn't hit any other cars so all is good. Now for those of you who remember I used to work for the insurance company that we are insured with. I of course called to talk to the agent, who up until today I always considered a close friend. Today I am not so sure. I'll leave it to say some of his words were not well received today, and the sad part is I don;t think he really realized what he was saying to me. It's sad because I worked for him for 23 years, and worked hard too, so hard it got me sick and eventually disabled. SIGH, I was sad today. I guess maybe I just need to pray for him more.

Adam is making great progress on the potty training today. he went several times on his own today and three times let me sit him on the potty chair to poop. We only used 2 diapers today, the rest of the time we were in big boy pants. He is back home with his mommy tonight, but we had a great day.

Church was canceled tonight so that gave me more time to work on the "real" sock. Here is a picture of my progress. I have turned the heel already and am working the foot, and then shaping the toe and it's done. I am really liking the looks of it. I think I'll get 2 full pairs out of this yarn too, that's great.

Not much else is new, I haven't been online much all I want to do is knit that sock, LOL. I am finding I actually prefer the DPN's to the circular needle(except for the dropping it part) and I never thought that would happen.

It's 2 minutes to Thursday (does that sound like a country song???) LOL I better publish this before it's too late. LOL

I am just happy that the Lord saw fit to keep my son safe on a three lane highway in morning rush hour traffic. he daily loads me with blessings and never fails to give me a reason to rejoice.

Today is Tuesday, What was I thinking???

Guess I was a little messed up yesterday titling the blog Tuesday when it was only Monday. Today a friend of mine was saying it was her sons 41st birthday today and she wasn't old enough to have a middle aged child, I was shocked... I am 45 going on 46 does that mean I am officially a middle aged woman now? Well that explains the mix up on yesterdays blog anyway. =8[

Adam came over today after school. We had a great day. We played a lot of puzzles and one was the alphabet and he was telling me all the letters and when I asked him what the letter was he sounded it out in a phonics way and then said a thing that starts with the letter. He is getting so smart.

Then later in the afternoon he suddenly said "Gamma I go potty" and ran to the bathroom, took off his diaper and went potty. He then insisted I let him take a bath. But after the bath we put on the Big Boy pants...

The wood stove going 24/7 sure makes the house dusty. Adam decided to take on some of my FlyLady duties today and he was dusting with my trusty FlyLady feather duster. That's Adams face hiding behind the feathers, LOL

Fianally asleep, by Blah Buster Buddy wanted to sleep next to him for a bit. She was a little leary while he was awake and active. But felt safe while he was sleeping.

I finished the GIANT sock as Adam called it today. I think it could almost fit over a foot that has a cast on it, it's that huge. But I am happy with it just the same and hope I have enough of the yarn to make the match. I'll wear them as house socks, it's pretty cold on my floors in the winter.

My husband passed his test today and is now an official certified Security Guard. Hiss first major assignment will be working security at the Carrie Underwood concert next week. He is pretty excited about that.

Well according to my computer I have 3 minutes to publish this before it's Wednesday, so I better get to it.

Tuesday- Socks, Security and Seven things

Well it's Tuesday. My husband went for his first of two classes to get approved for a security guard. He is going to get a part time job working at our local arena where they have concerts and sports events at.

Angie called and Adam is doing much better and does not appear to be in any more pain. He is already asking to come back to Nana and Papa's. He might come over tomorrow after school. We are expecting snow tomorrow sometime so not sure if he will stay the night because maybe no school on Thursday... we shall see.

My blah buster buddy has been following me all around the house trying to help. I have been taking her picture and am making a slide show about it. I can't show them all yet as I think there is a contest or something, I am waiting for more details. LOL But here is a sneak peek at what's to come. LOL

I started working on the sock pattern I got from Maria... I tried at first with the beautiful sock yarn but frogged it out. Then I decided to try again but I used a different yarn, Caron simply soft, that I had laying around to try to figure out how to get a circular thing started. I started with circular needles but after the ribbing moved onto double pointed and so far so good. I don't know what I did right this time but it's working. Now because this yarn is much thicker then it should be I only did 4" instead of 7" for the leg portion, they will be more like slipper socks. I was going to rip it out and just try again with the right yarn but I got this far

I couldn't bring myself to frog it. So I decided I'd finish up the one sock and then do the real pair and then come back and do the match to this one.

If all goes well I should finish this tomorrow. This is where I have stopped, it's getting late and I am getting tired.

Also CAT tagged me the other day, I am supposed to tag 7 other people but I feel after the Make My Day Award I might scare a few people away, so I will instead post the 7 things about me and then leave it at that. Should anyone want to post 7 things about themself on your blog feel free, I'd love to go read all about it. LOL. Oh and CAT is having a contest too that runs until Friday for some sock yarn... go over and take a guess OK?

SEVEN things you may not know about me:

1- I went to 13 different schools, between Kindergarten and Twelfth grade

2- I was married at the age of 17, and needed my mothers signature to do it

3- Bill Cosby once made a joke about me while performing a show in Las Vegas, I was 9

4- I never missed a home game for the San Diego Padres between 1974 and 1979 and had everyones autographs, including Ozzie Smith and Dave Winfield when they were just rookies.

5- I have been selling Avon for 28 years

6- The first concert I ever attended was The Bay City Rollers and I caught a scarf that one of the singers threw into the crowd.

7- I had third degree burns on both of my hands after being in a house fire and God healed me so that I don't have a single scar left.

There you go, that's my exciting life, LOL. I know you all are wishing you were me huh?

And now that said, it's almost midnight and I need to publish this. See you all tomorrow, God willing.

MY COCOA SWAP PACKAGE IS HERE

YES IT'S FINALLY HERE and I was so blessed. I can't wait to tell you all about it. It arrived Saturday afternoon, priority mail. I however didn't open it right away as I wanted to wait for Shelly to enjoy it with me since she didn't do it. I wanted to share the excitement. Shelly was supposed to be out of town for the weekend so I was going to wait until Sunday night or Monday morning. I know... how could I possibly manage to wait??? What strength I must have. Hahahahahaha. Well after Adam went home I noticed that someone from her household was playing games on the computer, you know what that means??? They were HOME after all. I grabbed the phone and dialed and together we opened the box.

The first item I saw was a card. Now I have to go into detail about this card, it's awesome. Handmade, with lot's of PINK in it. It is of two thin beautiful women sitting at a table enjoying a drink, perhaps cocoa???, after a shopping trip no doubt at the Local Yarn Shop. I hope you can see it in the picture, it's 3Dish and just incredible. I would have been happy to just have received the card and nothing else.

Next I opened the Vanilla Bean Marshmallows, I have never seen gourmet marshmallows this will be a real treat. Did you know there is NO FAT in a marshmallow???

The next thing I unwrapped was my blah buster buddy, it's a sheep. Knitting something in pink yarn, how perfect is that? I LOVE those Serta sheep and this is just like them, I love her. I named her BeeBee short for Blah Buster, she is watching me type right now.

Next was a small package that had three stitch markers in it, brown beads and a cup of cocoa on the end, I loved them, and then a small blue tin (I love the tin too, I love little trinket holders like that) with 2 sheep stitch markers inside.

Next I opened the can of raspberry flavored hot chocolate. I can't wait to have my first mug tonight as my bedtime snack with a few of those fat free marshmallows of course.

Let's see what was next??? I should have written them down as I went, but I was so excited. Oh yes, I found the Sugar and Creme cotton extra large size balls, one in Hot Pink and one in Potpourri. I love cotton and these colors are perfect. Just perfect.

Amazingly after all these awesome things there still was MORE. I know, I couldn't believe it either. Russel Stover sugar free pecan caramel candies. This was a God send for sure especially after those 9 weeks of TOM I just endured. I love chocolate and nuts and caramel and well it's not weight loss friendly, unless it's these specific candies. I am trying to only eat one or two a day to save them because who knows when I'll get more. Oh they are so good.

Then, well I happened upon the softest prettiest skein of yarn, it's Trekking XXL color #134, it reminds me of rainbow sherbet. I am going to have the prettiest pair of socks when I figure out how to make them again, LOL.

The set of size 3 double pointed needles (which I did not have any double points so this is exciting)from Clover and Bamboo were also in the box. As well as a pattern for a pair of socks that I can't wait to try.

The last thing I opened was a handmade knitting needle holder that she made for me. It's stunning and something I never would have even thought I would have needed but now know I can't live without.

And here is a picture of the complete un-wrapped package.

This was really fun and really did chase away the blah's I was feeling yesterday because of Adam. I even started practicing the sock pattern, frogged it once but I am determined to get it going this week. I'll be keeping you posted.

So THANK YOU MARIA for being a wonderful partner, you really made my first official swap a great experience and I look forward to being able to do one again someday. Hey maybe I'll even host a swap sometime, hmmm... maybe a Spring swap? Who knows. I am definitely hooked.

Oh I almost forgot, I added to my side bar a not about Sue's special birthday mission, if you haven't checked it out, please go over there. Together we can change the world is her theme.

I guess that's about all for now. This was a lot to read I am sure. See everyone tomorrow.

I pray you are all blessed today with sunshine in your life regardless of the weather outside, with hugs and kisses from those you love and peace that surpasses all understanding.

God Bless

Saturday, No School Today

Well this was a hard weekend with Adam. He was just not feeling well. His belly was HOT as he said. Not exactly sure what that means. He is currently at the Emergency room as I type this blog. I pray this time they can find what the problem is and not just give him an emema and send him home. It's really ridiculous how he hurts all the time. The poor baby cried almost straight from noon on Friday until I brought him home at 6pm tonight. He even woke up from sleeping. I love him so much I just hate to see him suffering.

He did bring home some artwork from nursery school. I took a picture of them before he brought them home to his mommy. Arent they cute?

I worked on a new dishcloth today, haven't thought of a name for it yet, but have a few thoughts rolling around in my empty head.

I also received my COCOA SWAP package today. I opened it with my friend Shelly on the phone, it was AWESOME. I will be blogging all about it including pictures tomorrow. I already contacted my partner and left her a thank you message on her blog, but I can't wait to come back tomorrow and show you how she managed to bless my "socks" off and make what was a stressful day turn into one of, if not the best day this year so far.

So that said, I am publishing today's blog and will see you all again tomorrow afternoon.

Friday, Breathtakingly Beautiful

Happy Friday... Adam came here today, the bus dropped him off at my house. He had some cute art work in his book bag, I'll blog them tomorrow and two baggies of wet outfits. Guess he had a bad potty day at school. Poor baby, he is all red again and was having bathroom pain and cramps no wonder he was wetting his clothes. He had a diaper on by the time he got to me. It was a hard day though he basically cried the whole day, he is finally asleep,

I got some news today, Adam's mother is pregnant again. Not by my son though, whew. I have mixed feelings, she can barely take care of Adam and now another baby. What will she do with this one when she needs a break??? Looks like I have some baby items to start knitting. I always love having a special reason to knit some beautiful things.

Below are a couple pictures we took yesterday of the trees in our backyard... they are not yellow or white trees they are covered in ice. The sun was shining on them and they were glistening like diamonds, it was beautiful. The camera didn't even begin to capture their wondrous beauty.

I'm Buried in the Toy Box SEND HELP!!!!

Well here I am, bet you thought I forgot to blog today. Nope... I've been finishing what I started yesterday cleaning Adams toys. I gathered a few pictures to show you what I've been up to. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with YARN.

This picture is what is GOING. One box for charity and one box for the garbage man.

This is what remains in the toy box... See the Rescue pack peeking out. I think he's looking for Melanie's LilDuckie to come over for a playdate, LOL.

This is now the clean corner. The easel will fit here nicely and Adam can pull it out when he wants to play with chalk. Papa is happy because he can now reach the window without leaning over the toy box (see picture above for dramatic visualation)

By the way the potty chair is now in the bathroom and that can is, gosh where is that can????

Ah and this picture I am sorry to say is what was on MY BED... by this time of course I was way too tired and wanted to be done, but where oh where was I gonna sit??? A Nana's work is never done. It took me about another hour to sort through the rest of the junk and finally get to out up my feet.

I still need to vacuum the floor and underneath all the cushions on the chair and couch, there is a little community living under there. It's scary. But that will have to wait until next week, as Adam will be here tomorrow and thru the weekend.

Well Survivor was on tonight... I am a little puzzled by the outcome of the first tribal council. I think Jeff Probst has something up his sleeve... anyone else watch it had have any thoughts?

I am finally watching The Russell Girl, should finish that before I fall asleep tonight, got my kleenex handy, I hear it's a five box movie and a three box commercial. Gotta love those tear jerkers.

I think I'll sign off for now and go check out your blogs then hit the nicey cleaned off bed for the night.

Wednesday, Wake UP and Worship

Thought I'd blog a little earlier today. LOL. These late night blog postings are gonna do me in, hahahaha

I took a quiz over on tea's blog and it was kind of cool, so I thought I'd blog it today

Surprisingly enough I think this one is actually kind of accurate. Now that's strange, as Adam would say.

Not much else happening today, it's raining.

I think I will have soup for lunch to warm up. The wood stove went out last night and my husband decided to let it stay cold until he gets home tonight. Sure he's at work, LOL But in his defense he does work outside a good part of the day so he is usually much colder then I ever am.

I should warm up though cause I plan on cleaning out Adam's toy box today, that should work up quite a sweat.

It's church tonight, so I don't want to over do it and then not be able to go.

I miss the contest already, I wonder sometimes what I will talk about if I am not working on a contest assignment. But I know I can't keep it up every month.

I thought I'd never fall asleep last night, by feet were throbbing, I woke up at 7am and was amazed that i had actually slept and started thanking God. I definitely will keep off them today as much as I can.

Well, I guess that's about it for me today. Lot's to do. Gonna play some praise and worship music and sing the day away. Wanna join me?

It's Super Tuesday in New York

Well not only was it Super Tuesday in NY but it was also a parade in honor of the Giants in NYC too. I wonder if the voting turnout was low because everyone was celebrating in the streets of the BIG APPLE?

It was a very long day, but not as long as the general Election would be, and I am so tired.

My feet are killing me, screaming in fact. I think a motrin and bed is just what the DR ordered. OK I really didn;t call the DR but you know what I mean.

Adam went to daycare/school today on the bus/van for the first time today. After he came home he wanted to come here to Nana and Papa's but we were working the polls so it was a No Go.

Also it appears that his bottom has cleared up, he has been taking baths more often like I suggested and for the last two days now when he has to go number 1, he goes to the bathroom by himself and then calls someone to come see he is using the toilet. YAY, potty training is finally taking off. My little boy is growing up.

I didn't knit or crochet today, just couldn't get into the groove. hopefully I'll feel like it tomorrow, it feels weird not making something. My needles are naked, yikes.

I'd love to talk more but honestly I want to cry my feet hurt so bad. I'll be back tomorrow.

Monday Maddness

And there he is... smiling and loving that silly box. Was it worth the wait? I sure hope so.

Looks like I am destined to blogging late at night this month. I seem to be so busy in the daytime that this is my only moments to sit and think about chatting.

I did my sisters taxes tonight for her and will do her kids taxes later this week. For years and years I paid someone to do our taxes for us because I was always afraid I'd goof it up and the IRS would come arrest me for an addition error or something. LOL. Then while I was doing data entry work for a bank that processed taxes, mostly sales and corporation and estimated taxes, they won the bid to process NYS income tax returns and I worked in that department. Suddenly I understood the forms and the fear left me and I started doing my own from that point on. Now with Turbo Tax online and free e-filing it's even easier.

Tomorrow is Super Tuesday election day in NY. I work the polls so I will be out of the house for most of the day. 11:30am to 9:30pm. I really enjoy doing it though, it's an easy day, I can bring knitting or puzzle books whatever, and the people I work for are great too. I also work in the district I vote in so I get to see all my neighbors as well.

I made a really cool thing today for my secret cocoa swap partner, I can't wait to send it out. And blog a picture of it too. I won't though until I am sure she has received her package just in case she happens to check out my blog. With Murphy as my maiden name you know the day I post it would be the one day she would visit right???

I haven't decided exactly what I will bring tomorrow to the polls, I am leaning towards some assorted acrylic balls and just making some squares for charity. I will bring some of my already made dishcloths though especially the red white and blue ones maybe someone will want to buy one, or order a few. I have sold things there before, so we shall see.

It's going to be warm tomorrow I think in the 40's. My plan is to get up and walk 5 minutes every hour that I am working tomorrow. There are stairs I need to climb to get in the building and my plan is to count every 2 times up the stairs as if I walked up my house stairs once so on my 5 minutes break I will walk outside, to the end of the building and back up the stairs again. So if all goes well I should be able to add 5 stars to my chart when I get home tomorrow night.

I guess that's about it for now. I want to try to get to bed earlier tonight so I am not tired tomorrow and make excuses.

Hoping today was a good day for you all... praying always that God blesses you and all that you do.

Super Bowl Sunday, Blah Blah Blah

Well another by the wire post, just not feeling like being online much today.

I went nextdoor to my sisters (she was at her sons for the football game) and watched a movie with my mom and niece. We watched a movie called "Amazing Grace" it took place in Englad 17 or 1800's around the time the hymn Amazing Grace was written by John Newton. Turns out he was a slave shipper before he wrote the hymn and wrote it because of the sin he felt he was covered with because of it. It was mostly focused on William Wilburforce who basically got Parliament to abolish slavery among other things. It was a pretty good movie.

I was hoping to clean off a few movies from my DVR but not to happen tonight, maybe tomorrow. I have to hurry though because my DVR is 93% full. Yikes.

So who's happy or unhappy about the Super Bowl fianl score? I personally am not a football fan so I could care less, but most of my family around here are all Giants fans. They are all planning on going to Dick's tomorrow to get the hats.

Still gonna tease you with a picture of Adam in the box, tomorrow I'll show the third and final shot, LOL.

Church was awesome today, music was good, message was good, fellowship was good... yeah it was all good.

I added another contest to the contest section in the sidebar, make sure to check it out. It might run another 7 days or so, depends on when she finally makes her 100th post.

Not much else is new here today, I can't even think what I really got done, but here it is almost midnight again.

See you all tomorrow, which is in about 5 minutes, LOL.

It's still February 2nd IN New York

I committed to blogging 366 days this year and I still have 20 minutes to meet my promise.

I have been out and about all day. Adam was here until 5Pm and then I went shopping, put away groceries, cooked dinner, checked emails, read and commented on all the blogs on my Ravelry friends list, and finally here I am to blog.

I finally got Adam to take a bath and I think I created a monster, LOL. His poor bottom was so raw it was bleeding when you tried to clean him, so I finally decided that was enough, and to the bath we went after the next dirty diaper. He had 4 baths in less then 24 hours. He didn't even want to go home. I needed him to go home. LOL

I gave him a cardboard box yesterday, it was more like a sleeve, it was open on the top and bottom and he played in that forever. I got a couple good pictures which I'll blog tomorrow, I am just too tired tonight.

Oh wait... it only takes a minute right, hold on.
This is just a sneak peek of what is to come tomorrow. LOL

Well I still have 10 minutes before midnight and I want to brush my teeth and get o bed, I leave for church in 9 hours already. I need my beauty sleep.

Hope you all had a wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow. Thank you Jesus for a good nights rest for us all.

February 1, Freezing in New York

OK... not funny but our furnace broke last night and I am without heat in the house. Well we have the wood stove, but honestly that isn't cutting it. I am sitting here in my winter coat wishing I lived somewhere like oh the dessert, maybe??? Burrrrrr

Adam is on his way over as well, I told them it was cold over here but they didn't seem to mind. I could hear him in the background going... "Nana, Papa's??" so it looks like we will be snuggling together to stay warm today.

Wishing I was knitting or crocheting an afghan right about now. A dishcloth is wonderful, but for warmth, um no chance.

I did get the taxes done last night so that's a plus, I also managed to washt he dishes and do the laundry.

Perhaps today I will find something I can bake in the oven to try to warm it up down here. Anyone for some hot muffins?

CONTEST STUFF
I drew a winner this morning for the final week of January's contest and the winner is MamaMay from her comment posted on day 4. See you never know which comment is going to be the winner. Congratulations and happy shopping over at KnitWitsHeaven Please drop me an email so I can let you know how to get your free pattern, OK?

I also drew a name from the blogs that linked to my contest and the winner of this small thank you token is Melanie I need you to email me with your mailing address so I can send out your prize, I won't tell you what it is but I am sure you will like it.

No pictures today... I just haven't made anything new and Adam isn't here yet. I feel weird with no picture, and just my words.

I am feeling blessed though, even with everything seeming to go wrong, I still see God's hand working here. He is in control and will provide all we need. It's so easy to complain and worry and doubt, but when you look up, shut up and worship you just get that peace that it's all good. I will be thankful in all things.

I sure am thankful for all of you.
